Really nice to put a face to the emails when we met Annabel and Jamie on our arrival. Upon being left alone at the property which was meticulously clean and sparkling, we dove straight into the much needed basket of basic supplies and had a cuppa tea and toast whilst admiring the view from the terrace. I stupidly forgot to bring my binoculars which would have been glued to my face from looking over at the sea to the Sierra Mountains. Everything and I mean everything was available for our stay, even down to the washing up basket to take the clothes up to the terrace for drying....fantastic. The decor was simple and charming and did I mention the cleanliness?! The air conditioning units worked a treat and powerful too and easy to use, it had more of an artic blast which you need when it’s 27deg at 10pm, rather than feeling like a wee mouse blowing on you. DVD’s available to watch as there is no English speaking tv, however take your own too because if you have a storm for two days like we did you will not be walking out in it. Saying that though the thunder and lightening was spectacular and amazing to watch but wet wet wet. The house is in the old town and there are three or four good restaurants and bars in the streets behind the house but low key so you don’t hear anything at the house. The only things we heard were the odd car or moped and a dog or two barking and the glorious sound of the birds and cockerels telling us to get up and watch the sunrise, which we did on most mornings wrapped in a throw from the bed and a cup of tea. Perfect. All in all a fantastic find and we both wish Annabel and Jamie the very best and keep doing what they’re doing because this place is a treasure.

Clean, spacious flat with balcony

A spacious, clean flat with good sized, reasonably equipped kitchen and decent bathroom. Bedroom is a decent size, but mattress was a bit too firm for me. The balcony is very nice with views over the bay and along the coast. At the quieter end of Almunecar, but plenty of restaurants and big and small supermarkets in easy walking distance. The owners are very nice and very helpful, especially if you get a parking ticket! Overall good value for money.
