  • What a privilege to stay in a place so situated in this stunning scenery.

We absolutely loved our holiday, location-wise the apartment cannot be beat - Lierganes is out of this world for families, so friendly, clean and packed with family-friendly amenities but quiet and quaint too. The apartment has a lot going for it, no less the view from the balcony and window seats in the kitchen area. Perfect size for a family of four. We had some trouble getting into the apartment when we arrived and there were some cleaning issues but we contacted the owner and housekeeper, both of which were very amenable and friendly and helped us out accordingly. We couldn't find the river for swimming, but again got prompt help and advice from the owner which resulted in my children snorkelling in the river with fish nibbling at their toes which they adored. A few finishing touches in renewing a few items and sorting out more thorough cleaning would transform what is already a wonderful place to stay. The garden looks amazing but we couldn't use it due to it being so overgrown - although the grass was cut the day we were leaving. The water is always hot and plentiful, the apartment is stunningly situated and very quiet at night. All in all we had a very special holiday and the owners are a pleasure to deal with.

  • Good location and facilities

Used the apartment as a base for exploring the Green Coast of Northern Spain. Despite my wife's back problems which arose just before we arrived, we really enjoyed our stay. Nearby Lierganes has plenty of facilities to fulfil needs, including a very helpful Doctor's Surgery! We visited the spectacular mountain passes just 15km up the road from the flat, as well as Potes in the Picos Mountains, and some local beaches (Galziano in particular was great). The top flat was worth the climb each day as the view from the balcony was great, and good for supping an evening glass of beer or wine according to the heat of the day. Easy to see Vultures and even an eagle soaring overhead, as well as small garden birds flitting back and forth, with a nightly owl calling too while we could star gaze without the usual UK light pollution. The bed was comfortable and the provision of washing machine and tumble dryer in the basement was helpful after so many hot days. The main bug-bear was the heat in the flat from being on the top floor.... opening the Velux roof windows was some help but that would then let various bugs in once the lights were on.... Overall still well worth while staying here.
