Make a holiday villa in Marina Manrera your home away from home

If you want to be close to the action, but still need to retreat to a peaceful haven at the end of the day, a holiday villa in Marina Manrera is just the option for you. This residential area on the northern shores of the Alcúdia peninsula is close enough to northern Majorca’s tourist hot spots so that you’ll never feel you’re missing out. At the same time, it’s a spread-out area where you can enjoy your stay in privacy. Holiday accommodation here is often spacious and quite luxurious. Most properties feature BBQ facilities and some also have their own swimming pool or hot tub. There are budget options too, but with the area’s close proximity to the ocean, even in a Marina Manrera apartment you will be able to holiday like royalty.

Things to do in Marina Manrera

Marina Manrera is located just north of Alcúdia town. The area started developing in the Seventies and became popular among Majorcans who wanted to have a second home by the sea. Right on the water, Marina Manrera doesn’t have good beaches, but does offer stunning views over the Badia de Pollença.

-The historic centre of Alcúdia is a must for history and archaeology buffs. From Roman ruins to a bullfighting arena dating from the 19th century, you’ll find some fascinating sights in town. If you’re feeling adventurous, be sure to climb onto the 14th-century wall that once enclosed the entire town. You can walk on this wall almost all the way around the old town centre.

-Alcudia’s beach is the one if you want a really spectacular one. Stretching for more than 8 miles, it is not only Majorca’s longest but also one of its finest. It has everything a great beach should have: fine, soft sand that just begs to become a sandcastle; shallow water for safe swimming; plenty of places to get something to eat or drink and a variety of watersports. It is not wonder that this beach enjoys Blue Flag status.

- S’Albufera Natural Park is Majorca’s Mecca for bird-watchers. Several rare species stop over at these wetlands on their migratory route. The park has a network of footpaths and bicycle trails and a great way to get here is to cycle the couple of miles along the coast from your Marina Manrera holiday villa.

-Sports opportunities are plentiful in the area around Marina Manrera. Apart from all the watersports on offer, you’ll find a world-class golf course, a sports centre with gymnasium and other facilities, tennis courts, cycling and hiking routes and many others. You can even take to the skies and go paragliding or hang-gliding.

-Hidropark on the outskirts of Port d’Alcúdia is a paradise for kids of all ages. With its variety of pools, chutes and slides, you’ll be hard-pressed to have more fun in the water elsewhere. You can even walk on water in a giant ball. If you prefer to stay dry, the park also offers activities like paintball and mini-golf. Hidropark promises a great day out if you’re running out of ideas for keeping the kids occupied at your Marina Manrera holiday home.

The weather in Marina Manrera

Marina Manrera has a climate similar to that of nearby Alcúdia. It is hot and dry in summer, with temperatures often reaching into the upper twenties and lower thirties. Winters are mild with some rainy days.

Getting to Marina Manrera

Marina Manrera holiday accommodation is incredibly easy to get to. You can fly in to Palma de Majorca and then travel the 37 miles or so overland by bus, taxi or rental car. Another option is to travel in by ferry. In summer, there is a daily ferry between Barcelona and Alcúdia, from where you can travel further by bus or taxi if you don’t want to rent a car. There is also a daily ferry service that links Alcúdia to Ciutadella in Menorca.

Beautiful villa in a very handy location

5 of 5
Tomeu and Maria were at the villa to greet us on our arrival and took time to show us around the property and all the facilities. The villa itself was stunning and had a glorious outside space with a pool, terrace and barbecue area to name but a few. Inside there is a large space to relax in if you so choose although with the weather there is no need. 2 large bedrooms one with a tremendous en suite and a walk in dressing room. The villa is situated a 10 minute walk from port dalcudia and the beach in one direction and 10 minutes to alcudia in the other, with a beautiful walk around the old town and a roman city ruins. Also very handy for a super market for your provisions. Loads of bars and restaurants within walking distance too. We had one small problem with an electric shortage but a phone call to Tomeu and the problem was sorted in no time. Overall we had a great holiday and Tomeu and Maria were wonderful hosts and I can't praise them enough. I'll certainly be looking to stay again in the future

If you wish to spend luxury time in a villa close to the coast with private pool this is for you

4 of 5
When we arrived after an early start our first impressions were "wow". And it turned out to be just that, there is plenty of room, the bedrooms were good and certainly lots of bathrooms. Before too long the children were in the pool and there they stayed for a week! The pool was a bit like the ice bucket challenge as a previous person said so we were warned but did not seem to bother anyone. We had all our meals on the outside terrace at the big table, the kitchen equipment was great although we did have a breakdown of the dishwasher towards the end but as it was Easter it could not be repaired so it was all hands on deck, but the lovely Helga was at hand and offered to wash up for us but of course we said no as there were 10 of us to do it! Beautiful area and nearby there are a few places to eat and drink but beware of steep hill, not the easiest to negotiate after an evening out! There is a small supermarket for emergencies but a quick run in to the mercado a in Alcudia us best with underground car park( quite tricky), also go early morning as it gets packed. We didn't actually get to little beach nearby but had an outing to Alcudia beach, also would recommend going into old tow Alcudia and walk through the lovely little streets and there are plenty of places to eat. Taxis seem easy to get if you don't want to drive. Parking is definitely haphazard in tow, people seem to park in the middle of the road, that is the locals! We were blessed with the weather for that time of year so we're lucky. We glad a wonderful family get together and would recommend to everyone, and hopefully if can manage to get the family together again around school half terms etc we will certainly return. Our 5 year old granddaughter cried when she left! Nad
