It cant get more perfect than this!

5 of 5
From the moment we arrived until the moment we drove away there is nothing more that we could ask for in a home or place to take a vacation week. We traveled as a family of 5: my husband and I, 2 children ages 10 and 7 plus my mother-in-law from the US. We stayed for 6 nights. Soto de agues the town in itself is a gem that I almost wish I could keep secret, with cobble streets, friendly neighbors, stunning views wherever your eyes rest and easy access to what seems like infinite hikes, drives, beach days, or just playing in the river and exploring the area. But what makes this rental so special is the space, the home that Leon and Rachel have created. It is a most beautifully crafted home with revelations of the old stone and wood nicely redone with modern high quality and usable appliances, cookware, furniture, lighting and plumbing. The sheets, the water pressure, the chairs on the porches, the mattresses, the bedside lights and closet spaces and towel heaters... Every last thing works well and is integrated perfectly for your comfort. You can tell that it was their home. Most rentals have the cheapest items for use but at Leon and Rachel's you feel their recent presence. The sound of the river puts you to sleep each night and wakes you to rise in the late morning when it is customary for the town to get into motion. The only other sounds are the clanking of silverware and hushed voices from the restaurant across the creek and the baaing of the sheep that go out to pasture on the hillside above the restaurant. Wifi worked well and there were bikes to use, there were tons of toys for the kids so they begged to get more time at home even though they loved our walks and outings as much as we did. There was so much space and sweet spaces for everyone to be together as well as time apart if needed. It speaks to how lovely the people of the village are as well as how well liked Rachel and Leon are in town that many people we encountered were happy to help us any way they could. In particular the people that take care of the home are just lovely. The caretaker Javier radiated warmth and respect. Mercedes who cleans is sweet and bright. Both bent over backwards to help or make things more comfortable. Leon was endlessly helpful with our arrival, then to my many questions throughout. I have never rented from a more responsive and conscientious host and staff. note: plan to shop ahead then to cook your food as restaurants very scarce.

Beautiful location

The Casa was lovely and in a beautiful location with fabulous views. A mountain right outside the window! Great walks from the village and within a short drive from the house. There are no shops or bars in the village so we ate in bar/restaurants in local villages which were all excellent, inexpensive hearty food. We loved the Picos mountains and our only disappointment was staying for only 4 nights! You need a week or more to really enjoy the area.
