The ancient Moorish Castle, now a hotel, at the top of the hill stands prominently on the skyline and is a fantastic sight as you fly into Malaga Airport. The Archaeological Museum, houses in another Moorish Castle, and the vast Baroque Cathedral are also well worth visiting from and self catering accommodation in Malaga or the surrounding area. The nightlife in Malaga is fantastic. From the traditional bodegas serving old fashioned local wines to the contemporary bars brimming with youth, the nightlife continues right through until dawn for many, and there are no shortage of bars and clubs to discover and enjoy.

The beaches in Malaga are beautifully well kept, with many miles of stunning sand beaches just a short walk from the city centre. The beach is the one of the finest city beaches available, amazingly clean and safe for bathing. There are also numerous water sports available, from windsurfing to deep sea fishing, canoeing to scuba diving. If you cannot find the water sport you would like to try from a holiday rental in Malaga, walk along the coast or drive the coastal road, as the whole of the Costa del Sol is a water sports haven. The golfing credentials of the countryside surrounding the city are unquestionable too.

Perfect Choice

This is a proper clean and newly decorated good size one bedroom flat. The flat is ideal for a short or long stay in this lovely city as it has all the amenities. The flat is minutes away from public transports like buses and the underground. It is about 10 minutes by bus to centre Malaga. Also Malaga Bus and Train station with in working distance. It is surrounded by supermarkets and restaurants. And only minutes away from the beach. There are also some museums within walking distance. The host Jose is very helpful and friendly, he is very eager to help in any way he can. I would definitely rent this flat again if I visit Malaga in the future and would not hesitate to recommend this flat to my friends.

An oasis of tranqulity and beauty a short drive from the centre

5 of 5
We had a wonderful 12 day stay at the 'New House' in Finca Matilde in June. The villa is very well appointed with all facilities and is cool inside even in hot weather. There is air conditioning but we did not have to use it. The villa is in an ideal location for touring (as we did to Granada, Cordoba, Mijas, Ronda, etc) and also is an oasis of tranquility and beauty in a secluded spot away from the hustle and bustle of Malaga city. After retuning form touring, or on 'days off', we could have a dip in the pool and sit on the terrace and look at the views over the countryside and mountains until late in the evening. At the same time the villa is within 10 minutes driving distance of the seaside or 20 minutes to the city centre. There is also a bus (number 34), which we also used, which goes to the city centre. Finally, the owners, Matilde and her brother, Juan Carlos, were absolutely charming and attentious, making our stay all the more enjoyable. We would not hesitate to recommend this villa.
