  • A perfect HomeAway get away

We stayed at Bart and Helen’s place for one week and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We didnt meet Bart or Helen, but everything was ready for our arrival, well planned out and they were super quick to respond if we needed anything. They have managed to create a warm and modern home - one could not want for anything! After long days hiking, this place was a joy to come home to. The kitchen was packed with everything one might need... we spent several hours cooking and sitting in the many patio / outdoor areas. The drive down to the house took a little getting used to in our rental but is immediately worth it to be greeted with splendid isolation and beauty. The area itself is stunning and conveniently situated for a number of the national parks and areas of beauty. We swam in lakes and rivers; and climbed mountains... it was simply unforgettable. Thank you Bart and Helen for sharing your special place with us!

We had a lovely holiday and the casa made it much more enjoyable. The property has everything. Space, tranquillity, facilities, amenities, views, comfort and nice owners. I have stayed at other lovely properties and what made this property even better was the size of the swimming pool, bicycles (+ numerous good trails), outhouse with BBQ and table/chairs and large garden. The area was even more rural than I thought beforehand. Salas Bajas is very small, otherwise the nearest town, Barbastro, is a 15min drive away. But Salas did have 2 highlights, a fantastic (almost Michelin starred) restaurant/bar, and a winery (with a cellar door). The rose and chardonnay are lovely in this recognised wine region. The area is big on outdoor activities rather than sights - a week would be plenty for the latter, but you could stay longer if you are into the outdoors. Really really minor suggestions to the owners when they next think about any building works: accessing the pool area via the kitchen (I even wonder whether you could switch the 2nd double bedroom with the kitchen). Many thanks for a great stay.
