  • A superb apartment and an excellent host

The apartment met our expectations in every respect. It was spacious and well-designed, very clean, comfortable, well equipped and had a view over the valley to the hills. Estefania communicated quickly and efficiently, and addressed our problems willingly and successfully. The only problem we encountered was the requirement by HomeAway to download its app to provide details of address, wifi, etc.. We do not wish to download the app and other agents seem able to organise their affairs without one.

  • you would have difficulty finding a better place

Although we speak no Spanish at all we were made welcome from the start with a jug of fresh lemonade, and an enthusiastic tour of the house, which is beautifully and tastefully restored with attention to every detail and a beautiful smell of lavender from the garden. we had a choice of bedrooms which were all beautiful with en suite bathrooms. The building is quite dark with the windows shut but I soon figured out this was essential to keep the building cool during the hot sunny days so we made sure to close the shutters when we were out. We were able to freshly squeeze orange juice every morning with great juicer and eat our breakfast on the terrace outside. The wifi is not in the building but at the local bar where everyone in the village gets their connection. Not a problem as we got to know the locals very quickly and were made to feel welcome sitting outside amidst the many Spanish voices. A lot of locals were actually holidaying themselves from the big city's of Zaragoza, Madrid and Barcelona back to their ancestral homes which was great as a few spoke good English and acted as our resident translator, thank you Andrea and Brado. Andrea was a great help during our stay helping us converse with Antonio and Mirabel . The communal pool was a short barefoot walk away and was in excellent condition and a gathering place for the locals during the sunshine. We ate at home every lunch and dinner so didn't try any local restaurants. A small supermarket and bakery in ayerbe 10 minutes away or a big supermarket in Huesca a 15 minute drive from Ayerbe was sufficient for all our needs. Local sites all within short driving distance and thank you Antonio for showing us the local medieval churches up on the local hills. In short the house was beautiful, the village beautiful and the people wonderful. It was a shame that we had booked a hotel in Madrid for tomorrow or we would have spent all our time here. Thank you for an amazing Spanish experience
