Lovely cottage in a rual setting

4 of 5
This is a delightful cottage, which is well furnished and equipped with everything you might need for your stay. We stayed for 3.5 weeks, and Tony was very good about giving us a discount for the longer stay. The cottage is situated in a hamlet of small holdings and the locals are very friendly (even if your Spanish is very basic!). It is situated about equidistance from Santiago and Coruna, but a car is a definite necessity as most things are a good hour away. (Which is why it is 4 not 5 stars!) Tony and his wife are great hosts, nothing too much trouble and their weekly cleaning was an unexpected bonus.

Lovely house in a peaceful rural spot, but not too far from many things

5 of 5
The house is a stylish barn conversion. It is in a quite a rural spot, but that's fine and good for peace and quiet. Corunna and Santiago are pretty easy to get to as are the beaches. You do need a car. The house is comfortable and reasonably well equiped and is a lovely spot to relax in. On arrival it was perfectly clean and in great condition. We have an eighteen month old child and even with the stairs it was very friendly for her. There's also a nice terrace outside where she played. Some of the garden could be a bit difficult (drops etc.) but fine if everyone is careful. The owner, Nuria, gave us all the help needed from a distance and a neighbour was very helpful and nice. The weather was fine staying in the middle of October with only one day of rain. Overall a nice house in a quiet location. And Galicia if you have never been is probably not what you expect from Spain - so green!
