Lovely house in a fantastic setting

5 of 5
Arrived at Casa Sera late afternoon, the sun was shining and our host Ilka was waiting for us, we were slightly later than planned but Ilka didn't mind, Ilka and her husband were fantastic with local information and making sure we treated Casa Sera as our own whilst we were there. The house is just perfect, compact but has everything you need and furnished well, no clutter, bare floor boards and tiled downstairs with the odd rug here and there, perfect. It had a lovely fire which we did light one night, firewood was provided. The kitchen is small but has everything you need. Across the road there is a lovely garden and BBQ area, this is shared with the other house they rent out but didn't cause any problems. Ilka had made space in the shed so that we could store our bikes securely but saying that everyone left their doors and windows unlocked, very safe area. The house is approximately 1400m above sea level and the views are fantastic, the villagers are all spanish apart from the odd holiday rental, we loved it being away from everything. If you are to stay here you must expect to drive, as closest town in 15 minutes drive away however the village does have a local bar called El Charcon, lovely little place, only speak Spanish so thank god for google translate!! There was no menu but Marta would use google translate to let us know what was available. I would highly recommend Casa Sera if you want somewhere to relax and switch off, no wifi but good phone signal. Clean, comfortable, friendly hosts would happily return. Thank you Ilka and Luismi we had a fantastic time.

Enjoy the peace and quiet of rural Astorias at Los Canales

5 of 5
My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing fortnight at Los Canales July 2017. Los Canales is a small estate with its own wildlife ponds and grazing llamas and deer, all adding to the secure and relaxing atmosphere. It is very well situated in Asturia being a short drive to the motorway system allowing access to Oviedo, Gijon and the coast or mountains. The house is delightful with terrific views from the upper terrace. It is well decorated with lovely wood floors both upstairs and down. A spiral stair connects the lower room to a spacious bedroom with access to the terrace. We were made to feel very welcome and Olaf and Soledad were on hand if needed. There was secure parking at the house which like most of Asturia is accessed by a steep narrow road. We particularly enjoyed dining on the terrace allowing us to appreciate the changing views at the end of the day.
