  • Quiet secluded villa
    5 of 5

We found the Villa to be exactly what we were looking for on our stay. We were looking for a quiet peaceful holiday and that is what we got. The Villa was clean with two reasonable sized bedrooms , had a great outlook onto the pool and secluded garden. We had a lovely time and would recommend it to anyone. Del and Sue were very helpful, around if you wanted them but never intrusive.

  • Lovely property in private and peaceful location

The cassita is very well presented and maintained, and is situated about half a mile from the small village of Murla which has a small local shop and a bar/restaurant. You'll need a car (or a large taxi budget) if staying here, and if you want a holiday let with everything on your doorstep, then this may not be for you. On the upside, you'll be staying somewhere with beautiful uninterrupted panoramic views and plenty of peace, quiet and privacy. Other than the property next door (also belonging to the same owner I think), the nearest building is several hundred yards away, and these two properties have been designed in such a way that you don't see and hardly hear your neighbours. The open plan ground floor kitchen/lounge/diner is fine for four people, especially as there are two very pleasant outdoor seating areas in addition to the pool area. It's nicely decorated and well equipped, and the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom are similarly well appointed and tastefully decorated. The third "bedroom" is more of small hallway to the upstairs with a single bed in it and no privacy, so being the fifth guest staying there would probably be a bit of a short straw for most visitors, but for our family of four, including two older teenage kids who shared the second bedroom, the upstairs accommodation was ideal. There is only a single aircon unit upstairs, by the entrance, and while this is more than adequate for keeping the upstairs space cool, you'll need to keep the bedroom doors open at night if you want the benefit of it, which may not suit everybody. The garden is well kept, and there are fresh figs, lemons and limes to pick as you need them, and abundant birdlife sharing the surroundings (we saw Woodchat Shrikes, a Southern Grey Shrike, Hoopoe, Booted Eagle, Sardinian Warblers, Spotted Flycatchers, Stonechats, a flock of Swallows zipping round us as we used the pool, and a Little Owl at night). There is plenty of choice of places to eat and drink in Alcalali and Jalo (10-15 minutes by car) as well as decent supermarkets, and good beaches at Arenal and Denia, both about 40 minutes away. The only problem we had was that the electricity was out when we arrived due to recent bad storms, and while all the surrounding properties had this restored the same evening, we were still without it the following morning because the smart meter needed to be reset. This was sorted out promptly enough, and otherwise, we had a fantastic stay.
