Esporles is a charming Spanish community in the southwest of Majorca with magnificent views of the Serra de Tramunta mountains. The small town is very pleasant with its old stone-built houses, restaurants and cafés set around the pretty main square beneath shady trees. It has a popular local market on Saturdays. Esporles is really well situated, close to the local beaches and a short drive from the town of Palma which has plenty of shops, restaurants and nightlife.

Beaches

There are some beautiful sandy beaches close to your Esporles holiday villa including Palma Nova Beach and Santa Ponsa a little further north along the coast. Most beaches have good facilities and a lifeguard on duty. The area is ideal for swimming, sailing, windsurfing, fishing, snorkeling, paragliding, water skiing and sea kayaking.

Walking and Cycling

The area around Esporles has some lovely walks and is ideal for walking, hiking and mountain biking in the scenic countryside. Some of the trails through the Serra de Tramunta are quite challenging but the views are spectacular. Easier strolls can be enjoyed along the waterfront in Palma.

Golf

Majorca is well known for its excellent golfing and has the perfect weather to enjoy it. The Club de Golf Son Termes is one of the nearest to Esporles, just 7km away and the Son Vida Club de Golf and the Golf Son Muntaner are a little further away. Most golf clubs on Majorca welcome visitors and have excellent facilities.

Places to Visit Near Esporles, Majorca (Mallorca) Parc de la Mar

The gorgeous Parc de la Mar park and gardens are on the south side of the Cathedral in Palma and were established in the 1960s. The park itself is tiered with great views of the sea. There are some beautiful water features, fountains and a lake which reflects the cathedral and the Arc de la Drassana Musulmana in it. The park also features abstract art and a giant tiled mural by Joan Miro.

Majorca Caves

Majorca has some wonderfully impressive caves which should not be missed. They have underground lakes, stalactites, stalagmites and huge underground amphitheatres which are used for concerts due to their excellent acoustics. These 200 caves were once used as homes by early settlers.

Marineland

Marineland is Majorca's main amusement park and features performing dolphins and sea lions. There are also aquariums of sharks and other marine exhibits, a parrot circus, crocodiles and a reptile zoo. It is just 23km from your villa in Esporles making it an ideal family day out.

Majorca has a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot sunny summers, making it ideal for holiday rentals in Esporles at any time of year. July and August see 11 hours of sunshine per day and temperatures average 28°C (82°F) with some showers in the mountainous areas. The wettest months are October through December, but the heavy afternoon showers quickly pass.

Wonderful finca with stunning views

We had a fantastic holiday here.The finca is full of character and tastefully decorated with a huge picture window over looking the orange groves.Each bedroom has an ensuite which is a big bonus.Plenty of outdoor seating to take in the views and watch the sunset with a glass or two of wine.We loved visiting the old town of Valldamossa for alfresco meals,and the restaurant above the rocky beach at Deia has breathtaking views. All in all our family decided it was the best holiday we had been on! Elizabeth Smith
