Make A Holiday Rental Villa in El Bosque, Spain, Your Home Away From Home

If you are interested in staying in a small village which acts as a gateway to a nearby nature reserve, and is less than an hour’s drive from the Spanish coast, then a holiday in El Bosque could be just for you. The high rise hotels which one associates with Spain are thankfully absent here, and instead, a holiday rental villa in El Bosque is the best form of accommodation to take. Fully equipped with everything that you need in order to feel comfortably at home, it makes for a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding region.

Things to Do on Holiday in El Bosque, Spain

El Bosque is often called the gateway to the Sierra de Grazalema National park, and this offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors. A walking permit and route maps can be had from the parks office, which is based in El Bosque. The park also has some good fishing and hunting, if you are so inclined. For other activities, a trip to the coast from your holiday rental villa in El Bosque is less than an hour away, whether you head towards Cadiz or Marbella. Here, swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing number just a few of the activities that you can undertake.

Places to Visit on Holiday in El Bosque, Spain

As already mentioned, the Sierra de Grazalema National Park is very close by to your self-catering accommodation in El Bosque, and at least one day spent there is recommended. As well as the walking tracks there are opportunities to see some amazing wildlife. Farther afield, the cities of Cadiz and Marbella are less than an hour away. Cadiz retains much of its historical charm, whereas Marbella is a good place to sit in a café to do a spot of people watching, especially by the marina areas.

Cosy, charming, delightful house surrounded by stunning mountains, 5 min drive to Grazalema

5 of 5
This was a wonderful place to spend Christmas week. Beautifully furnished with locally built and antiquish cupboards, tables and amazing Russian dolls door. Great fireplace and there are even woodburners in the bedrooms although we didn't use those much as they were rather too efficient. No WiFi but 3G/4G sufficient to create WiFi hotspot, stream music from Spotify, etc. Electrics slightly quirky - electric heaters needed unplugging if using the kettle, but no problem and it was nice having them for instant heat when coming in from the cold. Kitchen has excellent large gas range and oven so great for cooking. Lots of staples- salt, sugar, pepper, some spices there so no need to buy everything...but lacks a can opener! Eroski and Dia supermarkets off main square in Grazalema were adequate. Butcher shop excellent but no fresh meat on display so you have to ask for what you want. Lots of panaderias and shops selling delicious local cheeses, hams, honey, etc with quite extended opening hours. Tons of restaurants in town for such a small place, nearly all open in December. Tourist information guy v helpful, knowledgeable and speaks English well, can give you walking permits for the reserve areas on the day or in advance. We had a couple of gorgeous sunny days walking in high mountains - Simancon-Reloj walk highly recommended. Also had lots of cloudy, rainy days and found some pretty good lower level walks. Garganta Verde was particularly stunning. Vultures so close you can hear the wind in their feathers. Also saw lots of wild goats in mountains closer to Grazalema.

Beautiful apartment - perfect location

5 of 5
David Wood's apartment is the best one we have ever stayed in - the layout allows for a lot of privacy - the beds are comfortable - the views from the terrace on the second floor are stunning and the apartment is close to the square and restaurants - Finally, the host was very helpful and provided many resources about things to do in the area
