  • A wonderful place for a fantastically fun, interesting and relaxed holiday

Absolutely fantastic place. We (parents, two teenage daughters) had a wonderfully fun and relaxing holiday. The location and set up of the apartment give wonderful views down the pine-covered hillside to the coast and out across the sea, which you get as soon as you wake up (in the double bedroom), from the main room and from the open balcony where we had meals. The pool and terrace are also fantastic. We also really enjoyed the bigger communal pool (just beyond El Pinar restaurant) - I think that's only open July and August (?) It was a pretty constant 30-32 degrees and sunshine for us (second half of August) but if you open the windows and doors there's a lovely breeze. A bit warm at night but the fans in the rooms helped a lot (though the fan in the twin room could do with replacing). We enjoyed walking down the hill to the lovely little beach at Las Fuentes, and around and up the hill to hermitage. Everything from rent-a- pedalo beaches to quiet, good for snorkeling beaches to walking through unspoilt hills available within easy drives. We also enjoyed trips to Peniscola (nice castle in particular) and Vinaros (big town beaches + nice hermitage a bit inland), and particularly Morella (hour and a half inland, but very much worth it). But mostly, a whole lot of relaxed mooching around and la dolce fa niente (sorry, don't know the Spanish for that!). All seems like a dream now. Fabulous place.

The place is „in the middle of nowhere” that means that your holidays are relaxing. To get there you drive 10 min through orange and olive plantation. Than you eat your breakfast on the terrace and look at the quiet golf course, green grass, trees, shape of mountains at the end of the view. When you have your evening glass of wine on this terrace you see just the darkness in the total silence. The rest of the condo don’t bother you. On the other hand you may visit nearby villages as well as little charming little towns like Morella and as well splendid cities like Valencia and Tarragona. That gives you a real taste of Spain. The closest beaches are in Vinaros which is less than half an hour drive. The must see is Sol de Riu, a nature path along coves located on the northern coast of Vinaròs. The apartment is well equipped, nicely decorated, spacious enough for three or four. The pool was lovely for an afternoon siesta. The single complain is about terrace amenities – the plastic, old fashioned, cheep chairs were run-down and the cushions were simply dirty. Jacquie, the lady who looks after the apartment, was extremely friendly. We had a really good stay at Karen Scott’s holiday home and I recommend it to the next customers.
