Make A Holiday Rental Apartment in Carnota, Spain, Your Home Away From Home

Carnota is a small Spanish town and municipality, located within the Galicia region, to the far north-west of the country. This is a relatively undiscovered part of Spain, especially when compared to the busier, brasher Costas resorts lining the country’s Mediterranean. Nevertheless, this region still offers a great choice of self catering accommodation for its more select influx of tourists, including spacious apartments, villas and traditional Spanish cottages, or ‘casas’.

Perhaps the biggest attraction for visitors spending their holidays in Carnota is its 4 mile long and wide sandy beach. Often described as being amongst the 100 best beaches in the world, visitors enjoying their holidays in Carnota will be able to enjoy more energetic water sports, such as surfing, water-boarding and kite surfing on the beach’s exposed, Atlantic Ocean shoreline; or alternatively relax in the warm sunshine whilst jumping the waves. Whilst in Carnota, visitors will also discover that the town’s second claim to fame is its majestic Horreo, or grain store, which is the largest in Galicia. Entirely constructed in local granite, the Horreo is the national symbol of the town and its image can be seen on most of the town’s tourist guides and leaflets.

Another popular excursion for visitors enjoying their holidays in Carnota is to take a boat cruise to the off-lying islands of Cies, Ons and Cortegada, which form part of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park.

Magical House with Celtic History

5 of 5
We stayed at this lovely well restored house for six days and had the most superb time. Everything worked as it should have and the weather was very kind to us. The waterfall running beside this house on the O Pindo Mountain adds to its special quality. The wifi which was excellent enabled us to research the area and understand its Celtic heritage. In fact we would even swear we heard the "Mouros" on the roof at night. We played music , painted and loved the views and wild life. Thank you.

Another wonderful holiday on the Costa da Morte

5 of 5
We were privileged to stay in Bea and Ramon's lovely house once again this year. It's still as perfect as last year, very comfortable, beautifully situated and incredibly clean. The surrounding area kept us occupied too, and we managed to do completely different activities to last year: we climbed Monte Pindo to sample the wonderful views of the bay stretching towards Finisterre; we drove to Vigo and Pontevedra; we cycled up to As Paxareiras and to Punta de Lariño to enjoy the vistas; we bought and ate peppers from Padrón; and we jumped in the sea at Ézaro to cool down during the weekend heatwave. It was always a pleasure to come back to the house and relax each evening and prepare for new adventures the next day. Our only regret was that our stay did not last long enough, so we would like to come back again, perhaps at a different time of year, to sample more of the region's delights. It was lovely to see the owners at the start of our holiday and they were as helpful and charming as ever. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Moitas grazas!
