Make a holiday villa in Campanet your home away from home

Campanet is a tiny town of under 3,000 residents on the northern end of majorca. Just 15 kilometres from the coast, it is nestled in a scenic valley within close proximity to Puig Major and is an area well known for its expansive villas, holiday homes and charming historic villages. HomeAway has numerous rentals in the region, including several breathtaking Campanet holiday villas complete with high-end furnishings, swimming pools, gorgeous views and sun decks. There are accommodation options in and around Campanet to suit any budget that come in the form of cottage rentals, apartments and converted farmhouses. Campanet holiday homes are the perfect place from where to explore the quieter, more rural side of majorca without giving up all the comforts of home.

Things to do in Campanet

Campanet is nestled within a beautiful valley and there are plenty of charming historic villages to explore. The northern part of majorca is popular for hiking and nature walks. There are over 300 species of plants located in the forested region just a few kilometres from Campanet in addition to native goats, birds and other wildlife. Those staying in Campanet holiday apartments are also just a short drive from majorca’s northern beaches, which tend to be much quieter than those closer to Palma de majorca.

-Torrent de Pareis is a popular fast-moving stream and a popular hiking spot not far from Campanet. Visitors can follow well marked paths along the stream through gorges where they can encounter wild goats along the way.

-The Coves de Campanet are perhaps Campanet’s most famous sight. The caves of Campanet are located at a depth of 50 metres and have an overall area of over 3000 square metres. Visitors can take 40-minute tours through the caves in English where they are lead through various pathways and rooms created from stunning mineral deposits.

-Golfing is an excellent reason to book a holiday villa in Campanet. Campanet is located within close proximity to two golf courses. Nearby Pollensa has a 9-hole course, whilst there is an excellent 18-hole course located in Alcanada. Both courses offer equipment rental and everything a guest needs to have a great day out on the links.

-The stunning Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range is located just outside of Campanet and offers miles and miles of hiking paths. Visitors can hire mountain bikes and make the trek up the mountains. Alternatively, there are several horse riding stables that allow guests to take horses up into the trails.

-Alcudia Beach is a beautiful white sand beach just a few minutes drive from Campanet. Alcudia offers all the amenities of Palma de majorca without the crowds and is a popular spot for those staying in Campanet holiday villas to have dinner and enjoy the water.

The weather in Campanet

Like the rest of the island of majorca, the weather in Campanet is absolutely fabulous. The region’s higher elevation means that Campanet villas and apartments enjoy cool breezes throughout the year that prevent temperatures from getting too hot in the summer. It is relatively dry and warm between April and October this is an ideal to visit Campanet and majorca.

Getting to Campanet

Campanet is located on the northern half of majorca. If flying into Palma majorca Airport, the easiest way to reach a Campanet holiday apartment is by hiring a car or taxi. This is also the moth viable method if arriving to majorca by ship, as a vast majority of ships dock at Palma de majorca. The ride to Campanet from both the airport and Palma de majorca is approximately 30 minutes.

Perfect holidays in a perfect place

5 of 5
We had a very nice stay in Son Jorda. The house was extremely clean and Arnau was a very nice host. The kids really enjoyed and we had nice dinners outside with all the family. The Villa is very well located, just five minutes walking to the town. Highly recommended if you wish to spend a perfect holidays. Thanks Arnau for having us.

We were greeted on our arrival by Eva who manages the house. She explained all the facilities and procedures and gave us tips on what to do and where to eat. Very useful and very accurate. Our party ranged in age from 11 to 72 and there was something for everyone. The villa was superb and we made great use of the pool and barbeque. Getting around the area was easy, though the masses of cyclists and the narrow streets of Campanet were a challenge. We rode the Soller train and tram - a real gem of an attraction; visited Palma (by train from Inca - why drive when there's a train every 20 minutes); climbed Mallorca's 3rd highest mountain, Massanella, being rewarded with stunning views over the entire island; descended into the Caves of Campanet - well worth a visit; visited Cap Formentor where the road is a driving challenge to be savoured; and lounged on the beach at Puerta Pollenca having ascended the 365 steps to the Calvary church in nearby Pollenca old town. We can recommend the Antic Cellar Can Cota restaurant in Sa Pobla, where we had a grand meal on our last night. All in all a great holiday - and there's still a lot to do, so a return visit is on the cards. A more detailed description of the route to the villa from the motorway would be a good idea, as the little streets of Campanet are somewhat intimidating on first acquaintance, and the vehicular access to the villa is not on the same street as the actual address. One of our party made the mistake of relying on SatNav and ended up on a decidedly rough and unsurfaced road approaching Campanet.. (However, it's worth bearing in mind that this same person got lost trying to find Palma airport on the way back! Either the SatNav was hopelessly inaccurate or his navigation was pathetic). Personally I preferred using a downloaded map and I'm glad he wasn't navigating on the ascent of Massanella!.
