Things to do

-Local culture. At the turn of the 20th century there was a plan to transform a part of Gràcia into a dreamlike art nouveau garden city. Although it was never fulfilled, Gaudí’s beautiful Parc Güell is still there, and has one of the best views of the city. A great time to be in Gràcia is in August for the Festa Major, in which residents compete to decorate their streets in the most imaginative ways.

-Culture. Barcelona is bursting with culture. If it’s live music you want you’ll find a catalogue of venues booking exciting acts from the UK and America. High-brow evenings can be had at the Gran Teatre Liceu on La Rambla. And there are fantastic art museums all around – in Montjuïc you can visit museums devoted to Miró and Picasso, while in El Raval there are three contemporary art galleries.

-Landmarks. Barcelona is easy to explore from Gràcia. Many apartments here will have views of the breathtaking Sagrada Família church, which is no more than a few blocks away. It’s the highlight of the UNESCO World Heritage Site dedicated to the modernist architecture of Gaudí and his contemporary, Josep Puig i Cadafalch. In the Ciutat Vella, a walk down the ever colourful Las Ramblas is always a must.

-Food and drink. Gràcia has a cosmopolitan blend of restaurants crammed into a relatively small area. Growing in popularity are oriental noodle bars and sushi restaurants, but tapas is also well-represented in this area, and remains a relaxed way to enjoy good food with friends. For Michelin-starred nouveau cuisine, there’s Alkimia, which is at the forefront of modern Catalan cooking.

-Shopping. Gràcia offers an antidote to the posh fashion houses and chain stores you encounter further down towards Plaça Catalunya. In this part of the city there are friendly, family-run shops and quirky, one-off boutiques. It’s an area of second-hand bookshops, vintage clothing stores and contemporary design stores. Along Passeig de Gràcia is where the top luxury brands can be found, and on towards the Ciutat Vella are H&M and Zara.

Good location, nice and clean

4 of 5
We stayed there 4 nights and it's been an amazing time in Barcelona. The place is in a very good location, quiet , clean, tidy and it's very close to the central and to a lot of tourists attractions. Restaurants , bars, coffee shops and shops are just around the corner, metro is about 10-15 minutes walk. We arrived very late almost at midnight but wasn't a problem at all, Joseph been on the phone with us since we landed and he gave us advices how we can get to the place as easy as possible. The room is tiny but you don't even need bigger, the bathroom is very clean. During the night it's been very very hot but even a little fan makes a huge difference if you use it. We would definitely recommend this place and thanks Roser and Joseph for having us, we will hopefully come back soon!
