Perfectly Fabulous, everything it says and more.

5 of 5
Fabulous is not a word I use very often, however, the Villa can only be described as Fabulous. It is situated in a lovely quiet position, in an area just outside Calonge. The views are superb, looking across Calonge towards the sea at Sant Antoni and Palamos. Many afternoon was spent sitting around the sparkling pool enjoying the hot winter sun, with a cold beer or a glass of wine. We were met by Samantha, who looks after the Villa, any question you would ask, by text or phone, is answered quickly. You could not improve on Sam. Equally the Villa is clean and well maintained. Whilst we were there we visited a local vineyard, Mas Molla, well worth a visit, it is family run and one of the daughters showed us around the cellars, don't miss it. Also horsed riding at Hipica Unicorn, run by a Swiss lady who speaks English, very reasonable prices. Best to look on Google Earth for your directions, then very easy to find. There are a number of restaurants nearby and these are shown in a folder on site, we basically self catered, so I cannot comment on them. What I can comment on is the very friendly, and at all times helpful contact with Judy Anderson, the owner. And when you arrive at the Villa, you will find a folder containing a wealth of information regarding every possible question you may have of the Villa and the surrounding areas; Doctors, Dentists, Train times to Barcelona Etc Etc. You do not find this amount of terrific information in most rental properties. Would I recommend this superb Spanish Home to family, friends and anyone who reads this review, YES I would. Bother, I have just realised that I should have kept this review to myself, as I will now have problems in booking my future holidays there. Thank you Judy for everything. Tony Izzard

Fantastic views and lovely villa

4 of 5
The villa is conveniently located about 10 minutes walk to the beach and supermarkets and has some absolutely beautiful views across to Palamos harbour. The villa is well equipped and has ample bedrooms to easily sleep 10. The 3 bedrooms in the tower are the most spacious with good views. There is a downstairs storage area with bedroom and bathroom but its not yet habitable, but good to use via the garage when by the pool, to avoid the steps. The villa has air conditioning should you require it and the cost is deducted from the damage deposit, but is quite reasonable. The pool was great, large and heated so always a good temperature. It is quite deep with a ladder entry so better for those who are able to swim. It is at the front of the property, but raised up so you are not overlooked. There isn't any real garden for playing games in, but there are numerous seating areas so you can enjoy the view. There are plenty of loungers but no other chairs around the pool should you not want to lie down. The outside furniture was functional but could be improved to bring it up to the standard of the rest of the villa. The front portico offers fabulous views over to Palamos harbour and we enjoyed watching the cruise ships coming in and out. It gets the sun early in the day and then offers some much needed shade as the day goes on. There is also a seating area at the rear, covered by the sail, which is another pleasant spot. There is a good quality BBQ and ample gas. We stayed for 2 weeks and there was a change of towels and linen after a week, but no cleaning of the villa during that time. Once you have worked out the shortest route to the beach, crossing the main road, then it is about 10 minutes walk to San Valentino. Downhill to the beach but steep uphill on the return. There is a nice flat 45 minute walk along the beach promenade to Palamos or a cliff walk the other way. The promenade has numerous restaurants and bars and the beach is sandy and clean with showers along the route. There is also a site which offers assistance for disabled visitors. You can hire boats, windsurfs etc... there is plenty to do. The fish market at Palamos is well worth a visit, it opens usually about 5pm each day with fresh fish caught that day. The water park is 10 minutes down the road and whilst a bit pricey, it was not particularly crowded and very clean and you can take your own picnic. Overall a nice villa, fantastic views and good location.
