Make a holiday rental villa or apartment in Cala San Vicente, Mallorca your home away from home

Cala San Vicente (also known as Cala San Vincente and Cala Sant Vicenc, Mallorca), is one of the smallest resorts on Mallorca, located in the far North West, in the Pollensa district. The village is still predominantly a fishing village, and even if you have taken a self catering Cala San Vicente apartment, you will still have to share the beach with local fishermen mending their nets! The village has a completely authentic, traditional atmosphere, where you can really enjoy the best of Mallorcan culture, far from the influences of the international tourist crowds.

Things to do on holiday in Cala San Vicente, Mallorca

Taking a Cala San Vicente apartment does not place you in the heart of a party resort like those of Magaluf, instead it offers a quiet place to stay, surrounded by stunning coastal and mountain scenery. The fine, white sand beach of Cala San Vicente is a delightful place to relax in the sun. Protected by a steep headland, bathing conditions on Cala San Vincent beach are good, and the sand is powder soft. The beach can get quiet crowded during the heat of the summer, but this whole coastline consists of a string of small, sandy coves separated by towering cliffs, meaning you will always be able to find a suitable spot, specially if you are prepared to take a bit of a walk. The beaches of Cala Clara, Cala Barques and Cala Molins are particularly worth finding. The snorkelling in the sea is exceptional.

A self catering Cala San Vicente apartment is an ideal base for getting into the stunningly dramatic scenery that surrounds the village. There are many, many miles of trails through the countryside and the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains, which are largely accessible on foot, although there are some very strenuous trails to conquer. There are also a range of fantastic golf courses on which to test your swing, as well as plenty of water sports facilities if you are prepared to travel the short distance to Pollensa.

Places to visit on holiday in Cala San Vicente, Mallorca

Pollensa is Mallorca’s finest holiday resort, and if you would like to stay in a peaceful setting, yet with all the best facilities within close proximity, a Cala San Vicente apartment is the perfect solution. Pollensa has a huge range of water sports centres, as sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving and fishing trips all thrive in Pollensa, and if you are looking for an evening of entertainment or some good nightlife, the trip to Pollensa from a Cala San Vicente apartment is very manageable.

Weather in Cala San Vicente, Mallorca

During the summer months, the cove beaches of Cala San Vicente can become quite crowded as the whole village descends towards the refreshment of the sea as temperatures reach over 30˚C in July and August. Conditions are such that you can happily eat your evening meal outside, watching the sun dipping below the amazing, soaring peaks which make up the horizon. During the winter months, a Cala San Vicente apartment is still a magnificent getaway, especially for artists trying to capture the changing light on the already dramatic landscape.

Travel to Cala San Vicente, Mallorca

An apartment in Cala San Vicente is approximately 60 km from Palma International Airport (PMI). Palma receives an astonishing number of daily flights from airports across the UK, provided by a huge array of airlines. There are no tourist coaches making the journey from the airport to Cala San Vicente, but there are a range of fixed price taxis, which cost around 70 Euros.

Great holiday

4 of 5
Good customer service as we arrived at the house quite early but was greeted by Joanna who was very pleasant and provided us with some complimentary provisions of milk, jam , bread and a bottle of cava and showed us round. At first the lights and water didn't work but it was soon sorted by a simple flick of a switch . Think this was due to the pool connection outside getting damp each time it rained. The house had everything we needed , good size fridges and freezers, cooking facilities , microwave and washing machine. There was only the 2 of us so we chose to use the top floor for sleeping as the house is quite large. Reading the last review, I can imagine it being a problem if children are there and the gates aren't fixed but this wasn't an issue for us. Nice private quiet residential area with fantastic views of the mountains. We know the area and island quite well but think that an information and guide booklet would be beneficial for guests, although there is a tourist information centre near by. Also, there was no information on how to use the appliances. We didn't use the plunge pool very much but it was great for cooling off when we did. We hired a car and drove through the mountains and spent a day at Cala Dor one of our favourite places on the island. Pollensa and Puerto Pollensa is a must to visit and can quite easily catch a bus to go there. The bus stop is not far to walk to. There are a number of restaurants, bars and shops in Cala San Vincente, all within walking distance. Overall a great holiday and really good value but not sure if would return if paying more than discounted price on offer at the time.

Good location relaxing holiday

4 of 5
We had a lovely holiday, the house is spacious and has 3 good bathrooms. The garden and decking are very quiet and good for relaxing. The pool is a small plunge pool but nice to cool off. The air conditioning in the living room and main bedroom were welcome, the other two bedrooms can become hot if the weather is very warm, also the second bedroom is very small for two singles. There was a bit of a problem with ants but maybe this is the climate. The WiFi was variable, and could be slow, I think it may be shared by a number of properties. However we did enjoy our stay, Cala San Vicente is a lovely village and we enjoyed the gorgeous views walking to Puerto Pollensa over the mountains.
