                                      A very special place!

                                      5 of 5
Our family (with a toddler and a baby) had a wonderful time at Casa Maria. The place is very special indeed and we were made to feel so very welcome. The tranquility is lovely. The best things are the pleasing surroundings with lovely flowers and a well kept garden that is nothing short of a little phantasy, the personal touch noticeable everywhere and the location close to a beautiful sandy beach as well as the restaurants along the Paseo Maritimo. Despite being so close to beach and amenities it is very secluded and private here. Juan Antonio and his mother were such graceful and welcoming hosts. He made sure everything was perfect for us. It was especially nice that our three year old could happily toddle about the shaded garden and feed the hens or play with the cats and dogs whilst our baby napped during the day. Plenty to explore and do around the house. Do bring earplugs because the rooster is a noisy fellow. Finally, as a back pain sufferer of many years, I was pleased to find that the beds have good mattresses and pillows. We have had a lovely time and look forwarding to returning.

                                      A Peaceful Spot...

                                      5 of 5
I hoped that this place would live up to the pictures on the website, which seemed very nice. In fact it exceeded every expectation; the accommodation was more spacious than it looked, the rooms large and airy, the kitchen extremely well equipped (and I do love to cook, so to find it had sharp cook's knives and a really decent stick blender were a welcome surprise!) and everything was comfortable, clean and in excellent order. There is nothing "designer" or flashy about this place, but everything is simple, tasteful and entirely appropriate to the historic context of the building - a lovely old stable block with beautiful central courtyard. The floor tiles rustic terracotta, cotton rugs on the floor, simple country furniture. We loved sitting out on the covered terrace to have evening meals, the pretty (plumbago) hedge making our space private and sheltered, but still able to look across to the lovely old archway covered with beautiful climbing plants, one of which scented the air at night with a most exquisite perfume. The pool area with its views of distant hills and countryside, and the little sunken terrace surrounded with lavender and herbs, were so peaceful and lovely. Most of the time, there was a cooling breeze, which made it very pleasant to sit in the shade of the two magnificent old cork oaks. As for the hosts, Frank and Luisa, they were so welcoming and helpful, with many suggestions for things to do and places to go that you wouldn't find in any guide book, e.g. we had already decided to visit Ronda in our hired car, but Frank told us to drive instead, to the station at San Roque, about ten minutes away, where we easily parked for free, then take the train getting us to Ronda much quicker than the arduous road journey, brilliant! There were lovely walks to do from the house, to the lake etc, with astonishing wild flowers and butterflies. We loved seeing the storks on top of all the telegraph poles. The location is great, being within easy reach of Malaga, Ronda, Seville, Cadiz, Gibraltar etc. and many less well known local places being well worth a visit, such as Tarifa. In short, if you want to have the most relaxing possible holiday, but with loads of lovely places to visit and to see a bit of the "real" Spain, you couldn't do much better than this place.

Top Rate Accommodation for a Top Rate Holiday!

                                      5 of 5
The facilities here are first class and everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The flat's position allows for quick and easy access to the buzz of this attractive and lively city, whilst providing a peaceful oasis just across the road through the Almedar gardens-a bourgonvillia balcony overlooking the Bay of Càdiz. For a passionate filled evening of Flamenco - La Cava is close, not a typical tourist trap but including excellent young dancers as well as an experienced Cantor. The flat itself is a modern and clean development with an excellent lift to the second floor. The Flat is spacious and all facilities are new. If you need to eat in it's all here and the fridge is cold for that essential glass of Fino or Mantanilla sherry, but the many Plazas, Tapas Bars and Bodegas provide all you need for lunch or evening meals and just down the road Balandro provides fine dining with interesting dishes. Off road parking is an added extra. The lift down to the garage is an added extra to street parking, but may prove a challenge for an MPV. All in all - enjoy the facilities, enjoy the delights of Càdiz and enjoy your holiday!
