Cabuerniga is a municipality located in the scenic Cantabrian countryside in northern Spain. Things to do in Cabuerniga, Spain

Caubuerniga holiday villas sit on a popular cycling route that links inland Cantabria with the city of Santander. Comprised of winding hillside roads, the route takes in some wonderful views and guides riders through charming old villages. The Saja River is also close to self-catering farmhouses in Cabuerniga and winds through the landscape for 40 miles. The nearby Saja-Besaya Natural Park is an attractive natural haven, with large beech forests. This is a great setting for scenic walks and bike rides.

The rivers in this part of northern Spain are also popular among adventure sport enthusiasts, with a number of companies close to Cabuerniga farmhouse rentals offering canoe excursions downstream. Meanwhile golfers won’t be far from a host of great courses. The golden sandy bay at Oyambre is stunning and set within a natural park.

It’s also an ideal spot if you’d like to sample some Spanish cuisine, with numerous tapas bars clustered around the old town, as well as excellent fish restaurants near the harbour.

Cantabria is an Autonomous Community in a region of Spain that is admired for its rich greenery – the result of above average annual rainfall. Summers at Cabuerniga villas are also a little cooler, although you’ll still get wonderful beach weather from June to September.
