  • Beautiful house and location

A really well designed, spacious and clean house in an absolutely beautiful location surrounded by pine trees overlooking the lake. The rooms were cool and well ventilated and there were lots of bathrooms. There was shade or sun available throughout the day depending on your preference and a indoor or outdoor eating. We swam in the lake several times a day and there were lots of good walks. The surrounding towns and villages were a real pleasure to explore. Dieter and Ramon were both very helpful and friendly and the booking-in process was extremely flexible - fortunately!

What a brilliant find this flat was! We had a great time. A quiet, comfortable place to relax after a day exploring Aragon. For a stay in a not too well-travelled area of Spain it was perfect. A well set-out flat with plenty of space and all the amenities you need– a well-equipped new kitchen, Wi-fi, a big tele, a good bathroom with an excellent shower, a washing machine. There was even a roof terrace to sit on and watch the sun go down whilst enjoying a glass of cava! Everything was clean and well maintained and there was a washing machine too. A table tennis table in the entrance hall, which we couldn’t walk past without playing a game! Alcaniz is a pretty and friendly town with a good selection of bars, restaurants (Bodega and the Cafeteria were two of our favourites), shops and supermarkets. You can sit in the old square, sipping a beer and enjoy watching the storks sitting on top of the cathedral and making their ‘tocking’ noise. Nearby is the Embalse de Estanca, a lake which has a small and pleasant beach, quiet and with a nice café/restaurant alongside – perfect for a swim and relax. Canoes and pedaloes can be hired there too. It doesn’t take long to drive to other villages to enjoy the fabulous buildings and views. Fresneda, Calaceite, Valderobles and Moreno (near a decent set of caves) were all beautiful and the bigger (Valancian) walled town of Morella, just a half hour down the road, had a spectacular castle and church. Highly recommended!
