Atalbeitar holiday rentals are in the Alpujarras region of Granada, on the southern edge of the Sierra Nevada National Park. The village is made up almost completely of authentic Alpujarras whitewashed houses along the narrow streets which are traffic-free and just wide enough for laden donkeys to pass. Days out from your Atalbeitar holiday rental should include a visit to the market at Pitres on Friday. Further afield Salobrena is an hour’s drive away. This old Moorish town has lovely sandy beaches, good restaurants and an impressive Moorish castle. Almunecar is another coastal town about 68 km away. It offers historic buildings, shops, beaches and a monthly flea market. Granada is a must-see city with its historic centre and magnificent architecture. The Alhambra Palace is well worth a visit to tour the fortress and water gardens. Stroll around the old Moorish quarter, Albaizin, and enjoy the excellent shopping.

They fly into Almeria airport daily and offer cheap flights from the UK. A third option is Malaga (AGP) Airport at 110 km which is served by many low cost airlines from all over Europe. Perfect stay, lovely setting.

We had a very good time. The house and surroundings were perfect and very peaceful although the property is very close to town; the pool was heaven. It is a perfect place to enjoy the surrounding villages, which are all stunning.... but it is also great to stay at home, take a plunge in the lovely-big pool and enjoy a home made BBQ with local products bought in the shops in Orgiva. We wish we could have stayed longer.... a lot longer...! The property was clean and the caretaker was always available on WhatsApp. A very pleasant stay.

A superb villa with excellent salt water pool.

This is a very well equipped and well maintained villa. Fabulous views. Superb salt water swimming pool. Gas BBQ. The driveway is steep, but with care we managed to negotiate it with a Ford Focus Estate, although either a shorter or higher wheel base would have been easier. Drinking water is obtained from the springs in Lanjaron, but this wasn’t a significant problem provided we remembered to take 6L water bottles with us when going to or through the village. We hired mountain bikes and booked horse rides with the stables in Lanyaron and Órgiva, which were both excellent ways of seeing the hills!
