  • An excellent cottage in a superb location
    5 of 5

After a 1000mile journey from England we had a wonderfully warm welcome from Filipe and Isabel who were extremely helpful and obviously very proud of the mill and the surrounding area of Navarre. The cottage is also ideal for pets and our two Border Collies settled into their new home well. The tour of the mill and the complementary thalli (I think!) corn pancakes and local cider were very welcome and much enjoyed. Filipe explained that the village of Amaiur is culturally and historically very significant to the Basque region and is well worth exploring. All in all a very comfortable cottage in an ideal location for exploring the Baztan valley. ( For any English visitors who bring pets and need to find a vet before their return to England their is an excellent one just to the south of Irurita)

  • A Brilliant Holiday
    5 of 5

This was our first time in the Basque country but it won't be our last. Gema and her family were wonderful hosts, very welcoming & helpful. The apartment was reasonably priced, very comfortable & built to a high specification. The owners run a lunchtime restaurant which serves delicious food at very reasonable prices. The surrounding countryside and coast is stunning, with masses to do & see, great food, including excellent & well marked walking trails for all ability levels. We flew to Bilbao and hired a car. (You do need a car to get around!) Roads in Spain are very good. Well worth taking a SatNav. It was a really brilliant holiday. Thank you! Alan & Annie Hargrave
