  • A Pleasant Break
    4 of 5

Xativa is a great town to go to. Very Spanish so take your phrase book. Soak up the history of the “ Old Town and Castle”. The market however was a dissapointment. If you are up for driving there are some great beaches not that far. Denia and Javea is certainly worth a visit. The villa is well equipped. You will want for nothing in the kitchen. It has every conceivable appliance-although a bit small. Bear in mind though there is a large paella house outside and a good size BBQ if that is where you would prefer to cook. We spent many an evening on the veranda looking over the mountains. We never got board with the views. The garden area and pool was also a place to while away some time. With the paella house having a fridge it was not too much of a journey to get your cold drinks. The lounge was very comfortable and homely. Plenty to read and games to play. Just a couple of criticism.p It would be beneficial to have WiFi today as we all, or most, rely on our gadgets. Claire and Tommy were always at the end of a phone should there have been any issues. Thanks.

  • Better than the photos suggest!

This is a real gem. The apartment is larger and more comfortable than the photos suggest and Heather and Clive make every effort to ensure you have what you need. Lots of pool towels, basic cooking ingredients like oil and vinegar, sugar and salt,, soap, toilet rolls, bug spray, etc etc. They are warm friendly people happy to give advice and local information but also allow you your privacy and independence. Good safe parking, clean well maintained pool surrounded by a huge variety of flora and fauna. Beautiful views of mountains and countryside but only a short drive to the town. The town has an attractive "old town" with comfortable welcoming bars and restaurants and a magical castle on a craggy peak. We really enjoyed our stay.
