Make a holiday rental home or villa in Alozaina, Spain your home away from home

Located within the Malaga Province, and just 50km east of its principal city, Alozaina is an attractive village, which was once voted the prettiest in the whole of Spain. Times have changed little over the last couple of decades, with Alozaina sticking to its traditional ways of life and avoiding tourism on any real scale, but this in itself is enough to bring in a selection of visitors, who are attracted by the combination of unspolit countryside and a quaint village centre.

Things to do in Alozaina, Spain

The countryside around Alozaina is rich and varied, thanks to a strong agricultural history. If taking in the panoramic views from the comfort of your holiday rental accommodation in Alozania is not enough, you can put your walking boots on and head out for a hike. A popular trail takes visitors up to Ardite, a 459 metre hill that overlooks the Rio Grande valley and provides some scenic photography opportunities. Also well worth a day of your vacation is the Sierra de les Nieves National Park – a tranquil area that is home to an abundance of wildlife. Mountain biking and horse riding are other great ways to explore the local area.

The 14th century castle is the main attraction in the centre of the village, and though it was reconstructed in 1951, parts of the original Moorish tower still remain today. The Church of Santa Ana is also well worth a visit, and has also been rebuilt since its first remodelling in 1622, after originally being a mosque.

Amenities within the village are basic but adequate. Visitors do not come to this area of the province to experience a hectic nightlife and a broad range of tourist attractions, but all of the necessities are catered for, and you can easily spend a week or two without having to leave the boundaries of the village.

Places to visit on holiday in Alozaina, Spain

There are many places well worth visiting in the surrounding area, depending on your interests. If you fancy a break from the calmness of Alozaina, the city of Malaga (52km) has plenty in the way of modern attractions to keep anyone entertained for several days, whilst some of the best beaches in the near vicinity can be found around Benalmadena (63km). Historic Coin (21km) is another interesting town with plenty to offer the casual visitor.

Lovely little villa in a great location

4 of 5
I spent a week here in July with my family, 4 adults and 1 child. Very easy to find from the airport and in a great location with a supermarket 5 minutes drive away and the cost at Torremalinos about 20 minutes or so away. The grounds are lovely with a fantastic pool area with great mountain views and a fruit orchard with more plum trees than you can count! The house itself was more than adequate although I did think the kitchen a bit on the small side, but it had everything that you could want. Beds where comfortable. I cant speak for the lounge area or the TV facilities because we didn't use it all week, choosing to spend all our time under the covered porch. All in all we really enjoyed our stay there. The only downside during our stay was that i think there was a wasps nest, maybe in the fruit orchard as there was a large number around all of the time and both my wife and grandson got stung. Also the little "yappy" dogs across the road, yapping all day and most of the night, although i do understand these are outside of the owners control. I do feel that if the porch was enclosed in a fine mesh, this would help reduce the wasps/flys, particularly at meal times. With the wasps gone and if someone would "neck" the dogs opposite, I would happily revisit this property again
