Rural Idyll

5 of 5
If you're done with coastal holidays involving busy apartment blocks, and a shared pool. If you're weary of seeing towels appearing on sunbeds from 6am which shout "I'm reserved" and you're tired of crowded streets and the hard sell of tacky tourist trinkets...then may I suggest rural Andalucia. The views from this villa are truly spectacular. Here, there is privacy, peace and quiet....and, of course a pool of your own! My family and I have just spent a wonderful two weeks here and Malcolm (the owner) could not have been more helpful. You'll need a car, but within a few minutes drive from this villa you'll reach the little hamlet of Pastelero with its two excellent bars for drinks, tapas and meals at just a fraction of the price that you'd pay in a typical tourist resort. Within easy driving distance there are some beautiful places to explore including El Chorro, with its pine-clad mountains and turquoise lakes and El Torcal Park with its striking limestone rock formations. There are various whitewashed villages and towns and of course you can also drive down to Malaga and the coast within 40 minutes or so, or go north to the historic city of Antequera with its beautiful ancient churches and excavated roman baths. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa de la Buena Vista. Many thanks Malcolm!

Fabulous get away but close to everything, worth it.

This place is fabulous, stunning scenery with goats grazing on the surrounding mountain, a place for great walks and a swim afterwards in the fantastic pool. The owner is friendly and helpful, it is isolated although the nearest town has everything and everyone I met was friendly.
