Head down to the lovely Burriana Beach at Nerja and enjoy swimming, sunbathing, fishing, paragliding and all types of watersports in one of the many coves that run along this beautiful coast. Trips to the nearby caves at Maro will reveal the historic cave paintings. The Sierra Nevada Mountains provide scenic drives, hiking, caving, mountain biking, nature spotting and skiing in the winter. Nerja has a weekly market where you can shop for leather bags and belts along with local produce. Take a walk along the promenade or a more demanding hike in the nearby mountains. Checkout whether there are any local festivals in the Nerja area during your stay. The July Carnival is well worth joining in to experience the local customs, culture, music, food and colourful procession.

The El Inginio Shopping Centre is a popular local attraction with many familiar high street stores. Enjoy the views from the Balcon de Europa and visit the amazing Aqueduct of Nerja which spans the gorge. A scenic drive into the mountains from your Almijara II holiday villa takes you through many pretty whitewashed villages such as Frigiliana with its Moorish history.The city of Granada with its splendid Moorish Palace of Alhambra is well worth the drive. Visit the historic towns and old Mudejar castles in the Antequera region or visit the mountain town of Ronda which is famous for its bullring, shopping and Roman bridge.

Granada (GRX) Airport is 118 km away but it has mainly domestic flights from Madrid and Barcelona. A hire car is recommended for touring the surrounding area.

    Beautiful villa inside and a very nice outside area front and back good sun trap . Has good wifi at an extra cost of 20 euros. Everything you could need including hair dryer iron microwave washing machine washing line . Very close to the pool 30 yards away with a life guard. beautiful quiet complex nice aspect . Nerja is hilly so a car is needed . Towels washing up liquid tea towels kitchen roll toilet paper . no aircon but fans in bedrooms and ceiling fans in lounge. Very clean secure parking ......
