The La Manga Club is a world-renowned sports resort, located in Murcia on the Costa Calida, Spain. The sports facilities are of top quality, and can be found in abundance around the resort. These include three Championship golf courses, around 30 tennis courts, a spa and fitness centre, numerous swimming pools and opportunities for mountain biking, horse riding, water sports, football, cricket and much more. Visitors select accommodation in a designated area of the resort, such as in Albatros, and then will usually be eligible for discounts on their chosen activities for te duration of their stay.
Albatros itself is a quiet area of the resort, but close to all of the non-sporting facilities you could desire, such as excellent restaurants, bars, cafes, supermarkets and shops. There are good transport links around the La Manga Club, so you do not have to have a hire car, though doing so will allow to explore the area to its fullest, and get to and from the airport with more ease.
Places to visit on holiday in Albatros, Spain
When visiting the La Manga Club you are not, of course, confined solely to the resort. The surrounding area is one of the most picturesque in Spain, being next to the Mar Menor, a large salty lagoon that is separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a 22km long sandbar known as the La Manga Strip. The strip is jam-packed full of small villages, towns and holiday resorts, all offering another great selection of tourist attractions.
In the opposite direction to the strip are many more towns and cities that are popular with visitors and locals alike, including Cartagena (26km) and Torre Pacheco (34km). With so much to see and so, the attractions around Albatros could easily fill several months, let alone a week or two of a self-catering holiday.
Weather in Albatros, Spain
Spring and summer are the best times in which to visit Albatros and the La Manga Club, as the weather is hot and usually dry. This is also the busiest time, however, thus the most expensive. If you are looking for a bargain consider visiting in the early autumn, when prices are cheaper and the weather is still warm and pleasant.
