Avoid the tourist masses on the eastern Costas, and see for yourself what Galicia has to offer!

To better explore the Pontevedra Province in general you will need access to a hire car, as then such historic centres as Santiago de Compostela, with its amazing cathedral, can be visited. Weather in A Guarda, Spain

This area of Spain has a level of rainfall which compares with the south of England, hence why the region is so green. That said, most of this falls during the late Autumn and Winter months, and does not unduly affect tourists. The summers, however, are warm and long, with average daily highs exceeding 25 degrees Celsius. The Winters can be chillier, with occasional frosts during the colder nights. A holiday in A Guarda is more popular during the summer.

Whichever airport you decide to use, you will need to hire a car in order to get back to your holiday rental apartment in A Guarda, and also to give yourself greater freedom whilst on vacation there.

Nice get away, never wanted to leave

5 of 5
I felt very at home here in this lovely designer apartment. All the amenities you could ask for. It's not large and not small either, with great views of Mount Tegla from the living room window. Open the refrigerator and there is a welcome bottle of Alberino wine and soft drinks. You would not get that even in a 5 star hotel. New fresh and clean. Maite Lomba the owner is only a phone call away if you need her assistance. WIFI is excellent, I needed it to check on my business. The walks on the sea front and local beaches means you can leave the car behind. Plenty of sea food restaurants locally. Get in your car and you can drive along the beautiful coast line that would rival anywhere in the world for its beauty, on a windy or calm day its a photographers dream. Drive any direction and you can hit; Baiona ( Little Monaco), Vigo and Portugal, follow the wine trail, walk or drive up mount Tegla during the day or for a sun set that will blow your mind. We are going back, we may never leave! Martin Davidson

Super apartment

4 of 5
we stayed in the flat for a week in august and found it absolutely lovely. It was extremely well furnished, generous and not one thing missing. The balconies are a bit small. Montserrat was the most gracious and charming of hosts with a lovely warm manner. Baiona was a bit too build up for our liking but Sabaris is a pretty suburb. In the end we preferred the scenery and small villages on the cabo de Hom, Aldan, Bueu, Hio etc. But our accommodation we could not fault, brian
