Make A Holiday Rental Villa in O Grove, Spain, Your Home Away From Home

The town of O Grove is situated in the north-western corner of Spain, in Pontevedra province, Galicia. This is a particularly picturesque part of Spain and an area that entices tens of thousands of tourists every year. On your holidays in O Grove you will notice that the self catering accommodation in this part of Spain will tend to come in the form of traditional villas. In the more rural areas this may well be spacious and well-appointed apartments.

Visitors on their holidays in O Grove will have the choice either simply putting their feet up and making the most of the comfortable surroundings in their self catering villa; or alternatively, there are a number of popular activities available in and around the area for you to indulge in. These include swimming, water sports, tennis, horse riding, walking and rambling, fishing (either lake or sea) cycling and there are even a couple of golf courses within the province that are reputed to be of a very good standard.

Places to Visit on Holiday in O Grove, Spain

If you are contemplating heading a little further afield for some sightseeing, it is strongly recommended that you head north, for the city of Coruna. Architecturally and historically, this is a very interesting city to visit. Of particular note is the fact the Roman Tower of Hercules is sited here. Now, this must rank as one of the oldest lighthouses in the entire world - especially considering that it is thought to have been in use for no less than 2,000 years. Located very close to the port area, Coruna has some great and very popular beaches for you to enjoy and there is also an excellent nightlife within the city. Some great shopping opportunities can also be had in Coruna.

That said, you can still expect to enjoy a climate that is notoriously milder than back in the UK. During the summer months, you can easily expect the temperatures to reach the low to middle twenties degrees Celsius in this part of Spain. The winter will see values falling closer to the low-teens degrees Celsius. Rainfall can be quite high in this part of Spain, therefore appropriate clothing should be brought along with you.

This airport operates a direct flight to London Stansted (STN), by way of the airline Ryanair. As an alternative, Iberia Airways operates services to and from Madrid.

A little gem

5 of 5
The first impression is not welcoming, there are bare walls and not a hanging picture or anything at all. BUT it grows on you. There is a hint of mustiness in the air at first, but no damp. When the maritime air here gets locked in by the brand new double glazed windows, what else do you expect. Within a few hours with the windows open, all the mustiness had gone. Everything is brand new, except the internal doors, which are wooden with an art deco design. I certainly wouldn't want to ruin them screwing in hooks, a couple of coat stands would help with this. We were out most of the day, and I'm still amazed by how cheap the car parking is in Vigo, why walk or use public transport? The balcony is lovely, the outside seating is too. I mentioned the lack of kettle to the owner Isabel (very friendly and helpful), and she returned with a new one in about an hour. The location near to the motorway is excellent for exploring the district. The only thing it lacks, in my wife's opinion, is a full length mirror. We had a great stay in a great flat.

Large, modern house.

5 of 5
This is a large, modern house suitable for a family or group of people, and because of its design, will allow for everyone to have their own space if required. The ground floor has three nice bedrooms (one with en suite), a huge kitchen/dinning room that has stunning views over the bay to the Ille de Arousa. The upper floor, also with three bedrooms, bathroom, sitting room and kitchen is reached via an outside stairway. This floor too has great vistas across the area. The whole property is very new and all the extensive equipment includes everything that is needed for a very comfortable stay. The garden has a small pool, a gazebo with sufficient seating for all around a large table. Most of the garden maintenance is automatic Everything regarding the property is well looked after and Maria, the property manager, together with David the owner ensure that everything you need is available. The house is in a very quiet residential area of San Vicente, with the nearest town of O Grove just 5 minutes drive away. The area has over 100 restaurants, and countless beaches and walks all around. Its a perfect place for a family holiday and both the house and the area has plenty for all ages. We would certainly like to return one day.
