Make a holiday rental, home or villa in South Africa your home away from home

South Africa

South Africa is an incredible country of diversity, both in terms of culture and landscapes. The country is still developing an identity after the end of apartheid, and this means there is a vibrancy and excitement surrounding the country. No two holidays to South Africa will ever be the same, and no matter how much South African travel you have done, there are always many more experiences to be had.

Places to holiday in South Africa

It would take months to compile a list of places worth visiting from a South African holiday rental, and before embarking on a South African holiday it is strongly advised that you read about the country. However, here are a couple of vague ideas for your South African holiday;

KwaZulu Natal is a spectacularly beautiful area, steeped in Zulu history. The Drakensburg Mountains rise out of nothing, and are adorned with Stone Age cave paintings. The coastal regions offer some of the best surfing, deep sea fishing and beaches, 10 of which have been awarded World class status, and inland, the golf courses, hang-gliding facilities and mountain biking trails are amongst the best in the world. The city of Durban and the Golden Mile are situated in KwaZulu Natal.

The Western Cape is no less diverse. The wild Agulhas Coast is separated from the dramatic Cedarberg Mountains by the Cape Winelands and the Garden route, whilst the coast itself stretches for hundreds of miles, broken up only by fishing villages, beach resorts and rocky outcrops. The sea fishing, as in KwaZulu Natal, is exceptional, and there are plenty of opportunities to charter a fishing boat and guide whilst staying in a South African holiday villa. Any travel to this part of South Africa would not be complete without a visit to Cape Town and the imposing Table Mountain which overlooks it.

Mpumalanga is one of South Africa’s fastest growing provinces, having been created in 1994. Despite being a new province, the land has a very long history, and sites have been presented exquisitely for tourists to gain an understanding of past events. However, Mpumalanga is South Africa’s safari heartland, and wildlife is diverse and exciting, and the fishing here is superb. Although there is no coast, you can view game from kayaks, cave dive, white water raft and power boat on the rivers.

Gauteng was also created in 1994, and is the region where you can find Johannesburg is located. It is a cosmopolitan area, with 70 shopping centres and derives its wealth from the gold deposits found there over the centuries. It is often considered the gateway to South Africa.

Limpopo is the north-eastern province of South Africa. It is an unspoilt region offering sanctuary for game, and is therefore a favourite for South African safaris. The world famous Kruger National Park is here and there is extensive wildlife to amaze and inspire you.

Things to do in the South Africa

South Africa is blessed with so many natural resources that it excels in every activity and adventure it offers. The violent history has produced some fascinating monuments and battle fields, whilst the natural surroundings make it a favourite for safaris, fishing (sea, river and lake), horse riding holidays, and beach holidays. There are also a huge number of world-class South African golf courses and vineyards, and this is before you immerse yourself in the culture and gastronomic delights of this fantastic country.

Travel to South Africa

There are many cheap flights to South Africa, but it is essential to choose the final destination for your South Africa holiday before deciding on flights as there is such a variety, and there are often good deals on cheap flights to South Africa.

Great start to South African adventure!

Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful house. The location was perfect.... lots of nice restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed walks on the beach and watching the beautiful sunset. It was in a safe and quiet area. It was perfect for 4 couples. We loved the outdoor seating area with beautiful views of Table Mountain. We can recommend your house to anybody and will definitely return.
