Gorgeous, elegant, water-view stone cottage!

5 of 5
Llandudno is one of Cape Town’s most beautiful beach suburbs and our little haven, Petit Paradis, is a Provencal-esque stone cottage set in fragrant native gardens. Wisteria, bougainvillea, Cape honeysuckle, native fynbos, lavender, olive and lemon trees attract charming native birds. Nestled in a valley with views towards the Twelve Apostles, Camps Bay, Little Lion’s Head and Karbonkelberg, exclusive Llandudno is named for its Welsh counterpart. Petit Paradis, set in its private garden out of sight of the main house, yet securely behind gates, has sea and mountain views from every window, French-inspired interiors of cream, peach, and pale blues with white calico and wood furnishings, plus underfloor heating and a gas fire for those chilly nights. Vicky has thought of everything including excellent coffee and wine, to make our stay perfect. How lovely it is to sit on the patio watching the sun go down while your dinner cooks on the barbecue. We even spot whales in the bay. On hot days, we stretch out on the sun loungers with the sea glinting below, and listen to the tiny birds chirping in the gorgeous garden. The deep bath has views up to the mountain, while from the comfortable bed, French doors open onto the garden. It’s only a five-minute walk to the beach and owners Vicky and Graham, who live discreetly on the property, often walk there with a sunset bottle of champagne, though the sunset is equally exquisite from the cottage’s stone patio. It’s hard to get a booking for this one – European and English visitors flock here – but if you can, it’s worth it. Not only have we booked to stay again this year, but we would actually like to move in and live there!

Amazing

5 of 5
Wow! Just stunning. Sentinel View is such a lovely house and certainly had that homely feel. It offers amazing views - from the mountains all around to the beach in Hout Bay (even though it is not situated on the beach front you can hear the sea and it is a lovely walk down into Hout Bay). My family travelled from the UK and Tertia (Cape Town Villas) was our agent and ensured that our booking went smoothly and was quick to respond to any queries we had. She met us at the house and showed us around the property, which is truly well equipped and has everything you need. We were joined in our second week by friends from Jhb - the house is so spacious that we certainly didn't get under each others feet. We spent an amazing 2 and a bit weeks here and there were days where we were more than content to sit by the pool and enjoy what this home had to offer. I cannot recommend this house enough - beautiful house in a pretty garden and great service from the caretaker Garston, through to the cleaning service. I will definitely be looking to stay here on our next visit to the Cape. Thank you for making our family holiday that bit more special.

Just as described and perfectly located. loved it.

I have been very impressed all round by this property. Very clean, with 3 large rooms. Well laid out kitchen/dining area. The pool area was perfect. Just a dune away from the beach and close to shops, restaurants, the famous Hout Bay Market and the Constantia Wine Lands. A short drive to the lovely beaches of Llandadno and Camps Bay. Cape Town was easy enough to drive to, but the satnav did help. My only gripe would be that it was difficult to contact the owner/agent to arrange a check out time with them for the day of our departure. However, I will definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit Cape Town. As for myself and my family, we will hope to be staying here again on our next visit.
