Make a holiday rental chalet or accommodation in Quebec, Canada your home away from home

The largest Canadian province, Quebec, is located on the eastern side of the country, and provides a completely unique holiday experience. The province’s French heritage and collection of colourful towns and villages mean that all those who travel to Quebec find a warm welcome and lively atmosphere, but in all honesty, it is the areas between the cities which are most attractive to many visitors.

Things to do in Quebec, Canada

There is no end of possibilities for things to do in Quebec. Entertainment is rife, and as soon as you arrive in Quebec accommodation, you will probably start by taking a walk, either to get your bearings in a city or to find the ultimate viewpoint if you are in the mountains.

There are no less than 22 National Parks across Quebec, protecting some of the most impressive geological features, from towering rock faces to craggy fjords and glass still lakes. Fishing, hiking and hunting are three of the most popular activities to try during a stay in a Quebec chalet, but you can practice almost every outdoor activity you can imagine in some of the best natural settings in the world.

Places to holiday in Quebec, Canada

Quebec City is the only North American city still contained by its defensive walls, and there is a huge amount to see inside those walls, including the magnificent Chateau Frontenac, a bizarre, towering hotel which dominates the skyline.

Canada’s second largest city, Montreal, hosts many national and international exhibitions, carnivals and events throughout the year, making it one of the most vibrant places to take accommodation in Quebec.

The Laurentian Mountains are, for me, the finest place in Quebec. Lodging high in the mountains, between Quebec City and the Lawrence River, the pace of the cities seems worlds away. Looking out over soaring peaks, huge, calm lakes and dark forests, it is hard to imagine staying anywhere else. There are so many things to do from a Quebec chalet up in the Lauretians, as it offers an outdoor activity base like no other; there are few places where you can go fishing, ice skating, skiing, whale watching, kayaking, mountain biking, play golf and ride a dog sled in a single holiday.

Weather in Quebec, Canada

Winters are a serious time to take accommodation in Quebec. Temperatures during the winter months can drop as far as -25°C, which means you need to take some serious clothing if you are taking a chalet in Quebec. Summers are delightful though, with temperatures fluctuating between a mild 10°C and a brilliantly warm 30°C.

Travel to Quebec, Canada

10km outside Quebec City is the Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB). Although it is a very small airport, Air Canada provides flights from Paris (CDG). However, Montreal (YUL) is a much larger airport, and receives more regular flights from the UK, provided by British Airways.

Lovely, cosy, renovated appartment walking distance from old town!

5 of 5
The appartment is really well placed - walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars and coffee shops of Limoilou but also a pleasant walk via the lovely Marche du Vieux Port and along water to old town. Once we got a taxi home and it was just 6 dollars too. The owners were very quick to communicate by e mail/text and popped down to see us. Our only slightly negative comment was that we were initially traumatised that there was not a dishwasher which was surprising for such a lovely newly renovated place BUT to be honest, we mainly had just breakfast bowls so we coped😜 Would recommend.

Quiet street in great location!

5 of 5
Great apartment! Very clean and well kept. Many thanks to John and Jane for their warm welcome and supply of fresh Montreal bagels! The owners were always available if needed. Well organized local information and wireless internet on site. Quiet location close to Atwater Market, the Lachine canal, and downtown. Recently renovated and plenty of space for our 16 month old to roam. We visit Montreal often and the apartment was perfect for our family gathering (fully equipped kitchen). We're planning to rent the unit again for upcoming visits.
