Things to do

Vilamoura marina:

The marina is Vilamoura’s main activity centre. An impressive range of restaurants, bars and designer shops line the promenade, and the multitude of yachts are fascinating to look at. Many boat and fishing trips take off from the marina and are an excellent way to spend a day.

Beaches:

Vilamoura has two beaches within the city limits. Praia da Marina to the east of the marina is a busy spot with plenty of water sport activities to choose from. To the west is the more relaxed Praia da Falesia. This long stretch of sand leads all the way to Olhos de Agua.

Vilamoura Casino:

Vilamoura Casino is an exciting destination: aside from a large number of gaming rooms, it hosts regular evening entertainment. Nights of traditional dance and song as well as revues and magic shows are held here. The current program is available online.

Loule:

The 13th century town of Loule is located ten miles northeast of Vilamoura. Remnants of a 13th century castle draw in visitors, as does the daily market where fresh fruits, vegetables, spices and fish are sold. An added highlight is the gypsy market held every Saturday. Locals sell earthen pots, wooden toys, handmade lace and more.

Ria Formosa:

Found east of Faro, this sprawling natural park has an intricate network of lagoons, marshlands and elongated islands. Boats depart from Faro to many of the narrow islands.

Albufeira:

The busy and exciting city of Albufeira is one of the most visited in Portugal. Its famous strip is home to countless bars, restaurants and clubs for those looking to party in style. The Old Town is a quaint affair with cobblestone streets and an old clock tower. Fishermen's Beach, located steps away from the Old Town, is clean and safe.

The best break ever!

5 of 5
I chose this stunning villa for my hen do with 11 friends. I could not not have picked a better place. I was worried that it looked too good to be true but it delivered on every level. Firstly, the booking was simple and i had great communication from Victoria the owner who answered any questions i had promptly. The villa is only a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport and so close to the shops and the marina that you dont need a car if you are planning a relaxing break. The villa is super, gorgeous outside area and lovely spacious rooms with everything you need including wifi if you need it. We loved lounging by the pool and walking around the marina trying out the sangria and local food which is delicious. The weather was perfect - in fact the whole stay was perfect. All 12 of us want to go back and miss it so much! Thank you so much everyone!

Beautiful villa, great location

5 of 5
We just spent a week here and the whole group really enjoyed it, we would highly recommend it. We had 2 young kids with us (aged 3 & 1) & the owners made every effort to make the place child friendly. The security fence around the pool was essential, as were the safety gates at both ends of the stairs & gates blocking areas around BBQ and more steps. They provided a spare bed and cot on request, as well as a highchair. The fully equipped en suite in each bedroom was perfect, as was the air conditioning which we needed every night!! The TV is well prepared with Portuguese & UK stations, and ability to use Chromecast. The kitchen has everything you need, all clean and in relatively new condition. Furniture is all fairly new and not the usual IKEA cheap stuff you would often find in rentals. The basement is an added bonus, love the space they have for using the table tennis, and easy to use washing machine (3 clothes horses also provided). The key safe is very convenient, as different people can come and go as they please without having to ring the doorbell (code provided on arrival). The pool area is fab. There's the round table where we had breakfast each morning, then a sun lounger for about 7 people. We loved the pool, which stayed at around 30 degrees for most of the week, perfect for cooling off! The cleaners came mid week, which was a great help and not the norm. The villa is situated just off rua do Brasil, halfway between the Old Village (has a small shop and a few restaurants) and the Hilton, both easily walkable. There's the tourist train which goes twice an hour, and it stops anywhere along rua do Brasil, really handy to get to the marina or beach for only 4 euro return. Kids especially love this. If you don't want to rent a car, it's very manageable to stay here. Taxi to airport was 20 euro. There are the rental bikes available also on rua do Brasil. There are many golf courses nearby too. Overall, the villa is a perfect place to stay for groups wanting to relax in Vilamoura. We've always loved the area and we'll definitely return.
