A holiday rental in Vale do Lobo: a getaway to remember.

The booming resort town of Vale do Lobo is located within the so-called “Golden Triangle” of the Algarve. This region, comprised of Quinta do Lago, Almancil and Vale do Lobo, is one of Europe’s most popular resort locations. Vale do Lobo itself is three times the size of Monaco, and has everything a traveller could conceivably ever need, be it a supermarket, medical centre, bank, boutique or bar. A holiday rental in Vale do Lobo offers travellers the prospect of a resort town in proximity to the very best the Algarve has to offer. Whether it be a self-catering Vale do Lobo villa with a swimming pool and access to great golf courses or a comfortable apartment in Vale do Lobo complete with modern kitchen, garden and ocean view, HomeAway has got it.

HomeAway also conveniently has options in nearby Vilamoura as well as in the popular tourist area of Albufeira Old Town and Marina. Those wishing to stay near the resort but in a more rustic town may opt for HomeAway rentals in Almancil.

Things to do

Praia da Quinta do Lago:

This beach is the Golden Triangle's most visited and is comprised of soft, golden sand and clean waters. It runs from Ria Formosa to Vale do Lobo. A wooden walkway guides bathers along the length of the beach. There are beach bars and restaurants scattered along the walkway, some with terrific views.

Golf:

A stay in Vale do Lobo is perfect for golf enthusiasts. Vale do Lobo boasts several championship courses and is also near Vila Sol, Old Course, Laguna, Pinhal and Millennium courses to name a few. Up-to-date opening times as well as the ability to make reservations can be found online.

Sao Lourenco Church:

This church is found in the village of the same name near the outskirts of Almancil. Surprisingly, it survived the devastating 1755 earthquake intact, making it a truly unique site. The church's interior walls and ceilings are decorated in traditional blue and white tiles.

Quinta do Lago:

Quinta do Lago is one of the three towns that make up the Golden Triangle. It is an exclusive resort location with numerous five-star hotels, fine restaurants and nightclubs. The Buganvilia shopping plaza is popular, as is the Quinta shopping strip, lined with designer boutiques and jewellery stores.

Faro:

Faro, the Algarve's capital city, is located about eight miles from Vale do Lobo and makes for an enjoyable day trip. Parts of the original 13th century city walls and cathedral can still be seen today, and Faro serves as a starting point for trips to the beautiful Ria Formosa Park.

Vilamoura:

This chic town is located about 11 miles up the western coast from Vale do Lobo. The marina is a busy place with countless yachts berthed there as well as boutique shops, fancy restaurants and exclusive bars lining the streets.

Great for Family

5 of 5
The property is ideally located near the praca and the beach. It is very well equipped with inflatables for the pool and toys for the beach. It is a very family friendly property with plenty of space for all. We really enjoyed our stay and Peter could not have been more helpful. I would highly recommend this property. Conor

Great location, clean, charming and lovely house

5 of 5
Had a wonderful week with my husband and 16 year old son. We played golf 3 times on some beautiful courses in the area, ate out on numerous occasions and had a BBQ on the terrace one evening. The house is in a great location especially for the beach and walking distance to the Praca. Our favourite part of the beach was just a few minutes walk down a rugged path across the road from the house. The house had everything we needed including all the kitchen appliances so could wash the towels through from time to time and the supermarket on the site also had a beautiful selection of fresh meats and fish so could not resist trying the BBQ one evening with a nice bottle of wine. Would love to go back again soon.
