  • Warm welcome at a cosy cottage

The property is located in a small village very close to Sintra, which is an amazing place to visit in its own right and within easy striking distance of both Lisbon and the Atlantic coast. The hosts live in the house further down the driveway. They are extremely welcoming and helpful, with much appreciated touches such as fresh bread, milk and juice provided on arrival. The cottage itself is very cosy and actually larger than it looks on the photos. For a few days it is really comfortable, with a lovely porch and patio looking over the surrounding hills. The village shops and restaurants are within 5 minutes walk. However, it is worth noting that we stayed here in October 2018 when the weather was pleasantly warm: we can imagine that in high summer it might get very hot.

  • Charming and homely in an attractive setting

The flat was great for us and we had a lovely week. The flat was generously provisioned, and was more like living in a home than a rented flat. We had a rental car. The weather was good. We woke up to a couple of mornings of the famous Sintra hill fog, but it soon disappeared and every day was warm and sunny. We loved sitting out on the veranda for breakfast.
