We had a great stay at this property. We were only a family of four, but there's plentiful living space, and it would have felt spacious even if there had been six of us. The furnishings etc are a bit tired/dated, but the house was very clean – something I hadn't realised, but greatly appreciated was that the price includes a maid service every three days or so. The view from the terrace is just lovely, you can see all the way to the sea past Faro during the day, and at night, it's perfect for star gazing. The pool was absolutely fantastic. I don't know how we'd have coped without it in the heat! The local village is very sweet, friendly locals, a few cafe/bars and a couple of small supermarkets (Jaffers in the cheaper of the two). A couple of minor points on the negative side: Other than toilet rolls in all three bathrooms, there were no other basics provided. Previously when I've stayed in self catering properties such as these, there will be, for example, salt and pepper in pots, or sugar in the sugar bowl, generous places might have some tea or coffee. But there was nothing at all, so you need to stock up from scratch. The key safe failed us, thankfully when we had the key outside of it! If you have come across this property after searching for houses with air conditioning, you should be aware that the air con is in the living area only. There is no air con in the bedrooms, only fans, and so the hot nights take a bit of getting used to. Also, I'd say this might not be an ideal property if you have small but independently mobile children, as there are no gates to the pool area. There's also a step that runs along the side of the living area, which I could image toddlers and babies stumbling/falling off. Overall, this house, though a little tired round the edges, is great. It's mostly well maintained, the garden is really beautiful and as I said, the view spectacular. It's lovely that you can open up two of the bedroom doors to that view. Recommended, and thoroughly enjoyed.
