This is a beautifully designed and tasteful house with good facilities. It has a lovely outside partially covered sitting area. the location is great and close to all amenities. Philippe met us at the house on arrival and the welcome was great as well as the information he gave us about the location and Aveiro. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house.

  • Very enjoyable stay

The only problems we had with the property was the lack of air conditioning at night - being from Scotland we were not used to the high Portuguese temperatures! And we were caught on the hop in the kitchen one evening when the gas ran out on the hob - we were unaware that the kitchen hob used bottled gas. But Edwige was very quick to reconnect a fresh gas canister. Other than these, we had a very enjoyable stay. We loved the pool. The kids were in the water every day. Edwige was very attentive and was good for recommending local areas for day trips. We would highly recommend Águeda, Coimbra and Viseu. She also introduced us to the delights of Caipirinha during a lovely evening sitting around the pool chatting. You must go to Correio’s Bar. It’s just a good basic local bar, not a fancy tourist trap. Great for watching the World Cup this year with beer, wine, Sangría, and freshly baked bread every day (even on demand). Try the Pão com Leitāo, translated as “piglet sandwiches” by Google, this is their own bread baked with cooked pieces of suckling pig. Beautiful. The staff were friendly, welcoming and very patient with my faltering Portuguese. First family holiday in Portugal - a lovely introduction.
