We had a great time. We had an over night layover in Lisbon heading to Toronto. The apartment is very large and is fully equip. The bus 736 that runs in front of the apartment takes you straight into downtown Lisbon in 15 minutes. Supermarket is close by and airport. Its a great spot.
We used this apartment as our base while attending a language course in Chiado. It is well situated and we really enjoyed having a home from home rather than a hotel. It was also half the price!!!!
It's great having the outside terrace to enjoy an early morning coffee and after a hard day's sight seeing it was good to just sit and recuperate. Our weather wasn't scorching, but had it been, I don't doubt that we would have done some private sunbathing on the upper deck, too!
Although situated on the edge of the very hip and lively Bairro Alto, the apartment wasn't unduly noisy in the early hours. It was really easy to get to all the tourist attractions. Don't bring any shoes other than trainers and be prepared for some great walks up and down some very steep hills!
The owner, Glenn, was very helpful and answered all our questions. We took a taxi from the airport and it was just £12 euros. Shana the cleaner was waiting for us on the doorstep to let us in and she was efficiently knocking on the door at 11am on our departure day.
If you have the Uber app I would recommend using it in Lisbon as we came across half a dozen normal taxi drivers who didn't always seem to take the shortest route and who weren't particularly helpful. The Uber drivers were good.
As two women in our 50's we felt safe and at home in this apartment and I would definitely come back. Lisbon is the most beautiful city and I'm glad I ventured out of my typically British Algarve comfort zone to see not only Lisbon but Cascais, Ericeira, and Sintra.
