Beautiful Home - Superb Views - Great Host

Beautifully appointed home - the host and the housekeeper were very helpful before our arrival - the owner has purposefully picked this spot for its views and tranquility - and it worked! We enjoyed 7 relaxing days in the Douro Valley - so much to see and do. Although it’s situated in a private secluded spot - we were 3 minutes drive from the nearest cafe, the train station (which went up river into the valley and vineyards such as Quinta do Bomfim in Pinhao or you can travel to Porto city) or 10 minutes to great local eateries and grocers/supermarket The quality of finishings at the house and the fact every room had a view of the river was very appealing - so too was the aircon throughout and the fact every bedroom was en-suite A truly memorable stay for our group/family - thanks to Helena and Fernando

Luxury family friendly accommodation, in a stunning setting

To say I loved staying at this house would be the understatment of the century! It was without doubt the best holiday of my life! The house is situated about a 55min drive from the airport, it is a 10min drive off the motorway and about a 15min drive away from the charming town of Amarante. The lovely owners greeted us at the property on time and exhanged contact numbers for any problems. The house is walled and gated so completely enclosed and safe. The land wraps around the house so it does not feel at all shut off. Inside the house it is immaculately clean. The decor has a Moroccan feel to it with luxurious silk style bedding, voil drapes and lanterns dotted about the place. Downstairs there is a good sized kitchen, a huge living room, dining room. Shower/bathroom and two bedrooms. Upstairs there are a further 3 bedrooms, 2 more shower/bathrooms, a children's play area and large balconly area with incredible views of Amarante and the surrounding villages. The garden is just perfect, again with breathtakingly beautiful views across the valley. It is filled with flowers, shrubbery & sweet ornaments. The pool is magnificent, a great size/depth & very clean. There is also an outdoor bathroom! There is an abudance of outdoor furniture, including sunloungers, rocking chairs & hammocks. Oh and an awesome sound system which has CD, usb &, cable (plug in) attachments. We used the brick built bbq everyday. It is at the end of the garden and has its own outdoor kitchen attached! Next to the bbq is an excellent children's playframe. The owners stayed intouch throughout the stay for any issues, which other than a faulty light (which was fixed within 12hours) there was none. I honestly cannot fault this property, it made for a fantastic family holiday and we will definitely be returning! oh before I forget for supplies there is a local shop for essentials a 15min walk away but there is a huge continental supermarket and LIDL both a 10 min drive away on the Amarante outskirts.
