Make holiday rental accommodation or villa in Guia, Portugal your home away from home

A holiday in a villa in Guia is an ideal option for almost any holiday in the sun. Cheap family holidays to Guia will be wonderfully entertaining, and there is a wide range of attractions for couples too. Located in the centre of the Algarve’s Atlantic coastline near Albufeira, Guia is a graceful, peaceful and very small Portuguese village just a few miles from the Algarve’s most popular and vibrant resort, Albufeira.

Things to do on holiday in Guia, Portugal

Much of your time will be spent lying back on one of the quiet Algarve beaches, just 15 minutes to the south of a Guia villa. This stretch of the Algarve coastline is blissfully peaceful and uncrowded, even during the peak season. Within just a few minutes of leaving your Guia villa you can stake out a plot on the huge Praia da Gale or one of the pristine cove beaches which surround the village.

Zoomarine is a magnificent place to take children. The performing dolphins and seals captivate children and adults alike, and the enormous water park also provides many hours of excited entertainment! However, with the range of children’s clubs available, parents can take a quick tour of Cliff Richard’s vineyard, the Adega do Cantor.

In the evenings, Guia springs to life from a quaint and charming Portuguese village into a hub of activity as the range of alluring restaurants tempt tourists and locals to sample traditional Portuguese specialties and select delicacies from around Europe. The weekly market is a huge blessing for those renting a Guia villa as the finest, freshest ingredients can be bought for very little.

There are a few sights which are defiantly worth investigation from a villa in Guia. The charming 17th century church is a wonderful place to visit, especially for the simply, yet beautifully, carved high altar inside.

Gorgeous villa in a beautiful location

5 of 5
After reading the negative reviews about this villa, we were concerned about our week in Portugal given how much we had spent booking our holiday. We arrived home last night and felt that this villa needed an honest rather than a page criticising one aspect of it! The most outstanding feature of Villa Julia is the stunning cleanliness of the whole place - you could literally eat off the floor it is so clean. Every surface, floor, cup, plate, knife, fork, bed sheet, pillow was absolutely spotless. Beautifully laid out with a roomy lounge area - two large comfortable sofas, a television and DVD player. The air conditioning in this area works PERFECTLY. The bedding in the bedrooms is bright, cheerful and beautifully clean. Our only criticism is that bar the pink room, the mattresses are unbearably hard. However, this is down to personal taste. The air conditioning unit in the blue room is also very noisy during the night. Bathrooms are equipped with a great shower and plenty of hot water. The spacious kitchen is spotless with plenty of cutlery and crockery at all times. What can we say about the pool area but WOW!!!!!!!! This is THE highlight of the villa and would sell it to us every time. The pool is just stunning - large, spotlessly clean with a fantastic surrounding area full of clean sunbeds and umbrellas. We loved the pool SO much we spent the whole week lounging around it. With regard to the point in the review calling the pool a 'death trap' - we could see how the pool area would be challenging for small children as it has steps, railings, kerbs etc but this arguably would be the same in a hotel. Care has to be taken walking down steps/around pools/ on marble surfaces as they are hard and slippery but that is something we are all aware of when we have children and supervising your children on holiday is part and parcel. Guia is gorgeous and offers everything you need at all hours. You do need a car to travel around as it is just too far to walk. There are pubs, bars, restaurants, snack bars and supermarkets. Carmo, the agent, is THE most wonderful lady and could not do enough to help us. She is just fantastic and helped us to find the villa very late at night when we were tired. With regard to the villa being 'dated' it simply has dark wooden furniture and doors. Does this spoil your holiday in a spotless, beautiful villa? I would sat not. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely large villa big enough for 2 families

Large lounge with great wifi and uk tv channels. Great to have own private pool. Large driveway plenty of space for multiple cars. Plenty of clean towels. Lots of sun loungers and seats/patio furniture. Close to a road and noise can be heard whilst outside.
