An excellent choice

Our party was one (youngish) grandpa, three adult children, a son-in-law and one 3 year old grandchild. We all loved this place. The house is large with great facilities, including a laundry room. It was spotlessly clean and tidy on arrival. Towels and some toiletries are provided. We were here during some very hot weather yet the house stayed comfortably cool. The pool is a good size , it was very clean on arrival and is serviced once a week. The wifi service is good. There is even a radio system with built in speakers in some of the rooms The house is close to some superb beaches and coastal villages. Historic Sintra is a relatively short drive away ( but get there early to find somewhere to park easily) we took a day trip to Lisbon, a fascinating city...take the scenic N247 coastal route to Cascais and a train from there, only about €5 return. Our two cars found car spaces easily on the road that runs alongside the station between the station and the sea front. All day meter parking for around €8. The train runs along on the coast with some good views across the Tagus estuary. Our host Pedro Jr could not have been more helpful and welcomed us cheerfully when we arrived at around 22.00 due to flight delays. He came up with some great suggestions re local places. One restaurant he recommended in Almogageme, 'Pensao Sisuso' was excellent especially as it provided some good vegetarian option for two of our group. There are some small shops and cafes ( the shops close by 20.00) in Fontanelas the quiet non-touristy village where the villa is located ( they close by 8 pm) and a large Continente supermarket , open until 23.00, about 15 minutes drive away in Lourel We've had a great holiday here and to conclude we would all happily stay in this property again, and many thanks to Pedro our host.
