Relaxing rural retreat but within easy distance of airport, beaches and facilities

5 of 5
We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this accommodation and the area. It's even better than in the photographs. We were a group of 5 with 3 grown up children and found there was ample room for all of us. The pool was a really good size. We particularly liked the outside eating area and made a lot of use of this and the barbeque. It was good to have the tv with extensive dvd collection so we could take a break inside during the hottest part of the day. If the sky is clear, patio and roof top terrace are good for star gazing as there is very little artificial light so you can see loads of stars. The house feels quite remote due to it being in the middle of the countryside and at the end of country road it is in fact less than 30 mins drive to the airport and to several beautiful beaches, there were also shops and supermarkets close by. We were really surprised how close everything was. On recommendation from Tetyana we visited Fuseta beach and took the ferry out to the island beach. Fuesta beach was beautiful and less busy than I expected during peak holiday season. We also visited Tavira town and the island beach there. Tavira Island beach is much bigger and has a choice of several restaurants, small shops and cafes. Much busier than Fuseta but still nice. We also visited the nearby roman ruins of Milreu near Estoi and a bit further away at Amancil the blue and white tiled Church of Sao Lourenco de Almancil. At Casa Quintinha you're ideally placed to visit further afield as it's close to the motorway but we didn't venture far. We only stayed a week, were very sad to leave and would definitely return if we decide to come back to this area of Portugal. It was really helpful having Tetyana so close incase we had any problems and Stephen was really helpful and responded quickly to questions before the holiday.

Fantastic house and facilities, it was hard to leave.

We decided to try something different to the campsites this year and we also really wanted a rest and so we spotted this property and hoped our two teenagers (14 and 15) would enjoy it. We met Constantino in the village of Estoi at night and followed him up roads that got smaller and rougher, it was quite the adventure that ended in a wonderful surprise. The entrance to the house is impressive and is like an oasis after the hot dry approach. We were so excited exploring the house and property, there was so much space and room, we immediately thought that we should have brought guests. The house has everything you could need from hairdryers to washing machines, good wii fii and loads of spaces to chill out both inside and out. The master bedroom is a great size with a huge bed and its own patio which leads down to the pool. The master bedroom is the only room that has ac. Claudia came once during our stay to change the linen, towels and tidy up. The pool area is the best part of this property without a doubt. The photos are accurate. The size of the pool was perfect. We were concerned that pool sizes can be misleading in some advertisements but this pool will not disappoint. It has a shower and it surrounded by loungers, tables and chairs, a shaded area with a full size table tennis table which provided us with hours of entertainment. There is also a bbq area outside. Its a very quiet area and Im not sure if taxis would have brought us there. This house was above our normal budget but we decided to treat ourselves his year and we certainly feel like we got a treat. Although the place was quiet, the teenagers really loved it, the house, pool etc certainly fills in any gaps and we enjoyed our time together. Thank You.
