Cute, rustic & away from the madding crowds.

5 of 5
This cute & rustic accommodation overlooks a shady garden on one side & a fabulous, well maintained pool on the other. The garden has 2 comfortable hammocks strung from the mature walnut tree providing beautiful dappled shade from the sun. The pool area is gorgeous with plenty of seating & shades, if required, as this area catches the sun all day long. If you want a place 'away from the madding crowd ' then this is perfect. It is ideally situated for touring the length & breadth of the Algarve if, as we do, you like to get out & about. Your hosts, Jane & Graeham, are kindness personified. They are chilled out & relaxed & so easy to get along with, we thoroughly enjoyed the occasions we spent in their company. That said, they were unobtrusive & totally respectful of our privacy. The family dogs Megan & Charlie, whilst being totally adorable & very sociable, were also unobtrusive & respectful of our privacy. We spent a delightful 2 weeks here. The fact that we didn't see one cloud during our entire stay was a bonus. Finally, having stayed in some places where we felt we were sleeping on a bed of marble, the bed in this cottage is a comfy one - double bonus! We would like to convey all our best wishes to Jane & Graeham for their continued success & thank them for being so charming & welcoming. Ian & Ela - AKA 'Him & Me'

Casa Da Eira

5 of 5
Casa Da Eira is set in huge grounds only a 5 minute drive from the surprIsingly large but very pretty town of Loule. Although the house is set in a rural location, there are a few neighbouring properties dotted around so you are by no means isolated. It is a traditional farmhouse evidenced by the charming remains of an inglenook fireplace. We were delighted by the spaciousness both inside and out. The property is well maintained and very clean. We all loved the pool it was enormous and the deep end was just that...which pleased my husband no end! I lazed, sunbathing on the inflatable lilo whilst listening to my bluetooth portable speaker, so relaxing (you can't do that if your neighbours are in close proximity📻🎵🎵🎵!) The children would play bat and ball and football on the larged grassed area when they weren't in the pool. Having a car was great, we visited Olhao, Ria Formosa (by water taxi - exhilarating!), Tavira, Vilamoura, all only about 20 minutes in the car and there was a huge hypermarket "Continente" only 2 minutes by car. There is a water park on the way to Vilamoura also. The market in Loule is open every day, perfect for meat, fish and vegetables, excellent for the BBQ (another quirky part of the house that we loved!) That being said, we were amazed to find, lime, orange, pomegranate and fig trees in the grounds of the property itself! Maria and Flor were very helpful and accomodating. We struggled with the Wi-Fi 2 days in but that was rectified that very same day. We would recommend Casa Da Eira for a family holiday but it is suitable for all, perfect too for the elderly and infirm or families with small children with it all being one one level. I have already tried to book for next Easter but unfortunately It cannot accommodate 6 guests as it would be great to take the Grandparents.
