Spacious apartment in a fantastic location

5 of 5
We stayed in Monte Dourado 1 over the New Year and loved it, we have stayed in a few different areas of Carvoeiro and for us the location of this apartment was just perfect. It was very easy to walk into town for our morning coffee and only a short walk home after our evening meals in the evenings. It's only a small block of apartments so very peaceful - we enjoyed a number of afternoons enjoying the sun on the terrace. The apartment is very spacious, we had our in-laws with us and there was more than enough room for 4 people. The owners have decorated the apartment well throughout making it feel very comfortable and we enjoyed the cosy evenings with the log burner going. Mike and Emma met us on arrival, we had a late flight and they had lit the fire for us and put a lovely food pack in so we could have a bite and a glass of wine when we got there. Overall a really nice apartment in a great location - we will definitely return later in the year.

Fantastic luxury apartment in a beautiful town

5 of 5
My wife and I visited with friends (another couple) for a 10 night stay in this beautiful apartment. It was spotlessly clean throughout, was very well equipped, had lovely furnishings and extremely comfortable beds. The whole complex is very well maintained and the pool area was superb, with plenty of sunbeds and chairs available, along with toilet facilities. Carveiro itself is a beautiful seaside town, full of restaurants, bars, shops and interesting places. You really are spoiled for choice and all within walking distance up and down the gentle hills or steps. For those that love a good walk, you will be left speechless by the amazing views from the clifftops throughout the stretch that is known as 'the seven valleys', but don't worry if you think the walk may be too much, there are local buses and taxis aplenty, all reasonably priced. You can also easily go further afield using the new tourist service, which is a hop-on, hop-off coach (air conditioned, free wi-fi etc.) and again reasonably priced (I paid €6 p/p for the full day). Dining out is a must, you really are spoilt for choice, so don't stick to the same one every time even if you loved it on your first visit, try as many as you can, particularly those that specialize in local cuisine, you will not be disappointed (hence I am not naming any one in particular). All in all, I loved this holiday and have no qualms at all in giving it top marks all round. Absolutely brilliant.
