You won’t want to leave!!!

I am so conflicted about writing this review. On the one hand I don’t want the villa to be booked up the next time I want to go and on the other I don’t think anyone should be denied what is a jewel of the Algarve. If you are looking for a base to visit the region its perfect, except when you go out for the day you can’t wait to get back and relax by the pool surrounded by tropical trees and fruiting plants. It is genuinely tropically unique. The villa is spacious and comfortable with everything you need. The terraces are ideal for day and evening alfresco dining. The pool area is lovely and the pool bar has a fridge for your cold drinks and freezer section for ice etc. There is plenty of shade if you want it. Chilling in the hammock under the swaying palm leaves is simply idyllic. In late summer the tropical fruits are ripening. There are paths for walks criss crossing the grounds. During our walks we picked fresh figs for breakfast, lychees and other fruits we’d never heard of. The mangos looked lush but weren’t quite ripe for picking. Your host Sergio is a great bloke with a passion for his life’s work creating this paradise. He is very knowledgeable not only regarding his tropical creation but also in local history and politics. He’s really got life sussed. We did day trips to Alfor, Alte, Silves and Albufeira old town all with 30-45mins drive. You do need a car. The local restaurant is walkable but perhaps 20mins walk. Whichever way you get there, the reception is very warm and friendly and the food is very nicely cooked. We went twice and really enjoyed the pigs cheeks. Book ahead if you can. So! If you are considering a villa in this area, why wouldn’t you choose a villa surrounded by a tropical paradise? But not the same weeks we want please! Thanks Sergio

A great place to stay in a quiet area of Portugal in easy driving distance of Silves

My family of 4 really enjoyed our stay at this Villa. Our children are 23 & 15 so WIFI was important for both work and entertainment purposes - this was quick and didn’t fail once. I watched the Grand Prix by the pool too!! We were greeted by the owner Mr Jose who was really nice and made us very welcome. Everywhere was very clean and the basics were already there for use (toilet rolls soap etc) We were fortunate as the only family renting during our stay so both apartments were opened up for use - if two families were booked at the same time a door could be locked to separate the two halves of the building. The pool and the views were lovely and Mr Jose has further plans to develop the outside area to include an outside oven - we like to BBQ when on holiday but due to the concern of fires starting in the rural areas this is not permitted and was a slight negative but obviously fully understandable. We had a great stay and would not hesitate to return. My only reservation would be for families with young children the pathways are currently gravel and concrete steps but again Mr Jose has plans to make this more child friendly when the external cooking area is done. Highly recommend for families wanting a peaceful relaxing holiday!!
