  • Modern, well equipped apartment close to Lagos Marina

We (three adults and one child) stayed at this lovely apartment for 8 nights in October. We were very happy with the liaison with Annie before the trip (I was concerned about the balcony railings with our young son and she arranged for screening to be installed), and we were impressed with how well equipped and maintained the apartment was. It was the perfect size and layout for us. The terrace was great for breakfast and relaxing in the afternoons. We walked into the old town most days for either lunch or dinner, and found the Pingo Doce supermarket (10 min walk) really useful. The pool area was clean and quiet and we would have used it more if the weather had been better. Would have been 5 stars but for a mix-up with the local agent when we arrived which meant we had to wait an hour outside the building with our bags and our three year old son after an early start, so that wasn’t great. Having said that, Annie mentioned that no one was checking into the apartment on the day of our departure so we were welcome to stay for the day (unfortunately we had a lunchtime flight so couldn’t take her up on the offer!). Thanks Annie, we had a lovely break and we would stay again!

I booked this apartment for myself and parents who are both retired and we all loved it. This was my fourth time at these apartments and have not had a negative experience once. The apartment itself is clean, well furnished and modern with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The change over as we took over the apartment was quick and well organised. There is a good variety of info regarding the local services and day trips, there is also a comments book to leave a review in, this would be helpful if it was your first visit. We stayed for 2 weeks and the apartment was cleaned and linen changed after the 1st week. The supermarket is 2 mins away and put some of British supermarkets to shame with the freshness of food and choice. We stayed in Sept-Oct and had no issues with sun beds or any noise etc I believe most of these apartments are owned by families and rented out during the main summer months and then they come early or late summer to enjoy the peace and quiet and early/late sun - if you want entertainment/music and bbqs then these apartments are not for you. There are security, handy men and cleaners who are there to help you if you require it. The town of Lagos is beautiful as is Silves where there is a castle and church that is well worth a visit - TIP - You can get a train for a few euros to Silves and explore yourself rather than paying for a day trip costing 25-30 euros Regarding eating in - Pingo supermarket has everything you need lovely cheeses, breads, fish and meat. There is a produce market on a Saturday morning by the bus station and the locals sell produce including fruit, veg, eggs, cakes, preserves and pickles, this is well attended by those who are self catering Eating out - You can’t get a better meal than The Marina Bar which is a 2 min walk on the harbour, they include a specials board and children’s meals. This has been one of the best apartments I have stayed in and well worth a visit Sarah
