Stylish Apartment

5 of 5
Clean, stylish, spacious , joyful colours, great view, really good shower. Friendly welcome. The apartment was really well equipped right down to a knife sharpener and a bottle sealer for half drunk bottles of champagne. It's the little things that can annoy if they are missing and everything was thought of here. Even a well equipped desk was provided with pencils, paper and a sketch pad amongst other items. One could easily stay for several weeks and want for nothing else to be provided. The apartment is well located for the local attractions with good places to eat nearby and a good supermarket 15 minute stroll away or a short hop on the tram. We encountered many friendly people during our stay and English was well spoken in most places, useful as our Portuguese amounts to hello and thank you! Another thing worthy of mention is that although there are two apartments below no noise drifted up to the apartment from them. The only indication that others resided in the building was the opening of the main door onto the street. The bedroom is sited at the back of the apartment providing a quiet and restful sleep. Throwing open the front windows let in the bustle of the area with the rattle of the trams below and the calls of the Swifts flying above. We had a brilliant holiday and I gladly recommend the River House as a great place to stay.

Superb

This was a lovely clean apt in the Belem area. Easily can get to and from the tourist area of Lisbon by tram, bus or train. It is at the top of a steep hill and is a 4 story walk up, so it wouldn't be suitable for people with strollers or those who have difficulties walking. The apartment was basic, but clean and had a cute little balcony. It was close to all the Belem attraction. Some small groceries shops were nearby to buy what you need. We would highly recommend this apartmen to others. We have stayed in many apartments around the world and basic supplies were always supplied. They had lots of dishes and huge pots, but no dish soap ( we left some there), no soap in the bathrooms or laundry soap ( we left a box). There were only 2 small rolls of toilet paper and no extra, so we had to buy some (we left the extra rolls in the apt). In our experience, these things were always supplied by the rental company or owner They did leave a basket with wine and jelly, so that was nice.
