Excellent Hidy Hole to relax in

5 of 5
Difficult to find some say.... I suppose it could be with this in mind we left Tomar and found it straight away. How? TomTom it takes you to rue de sao bento and arrived me easily just had to look directly right and house was through the trees a short ahead drive a tight right turn back on yourself at the green garage door up the track and bingo. TomTom has no idea from the address so use google maps to pinpoint villa bring TomTom to device with google maps and use "point on map" in the navigate to section match the two and put you pin in with you finger be aware TomTom will only give you Sao Bento it won't find the track the villa is on but by matching google maps and TomTom makes life 98% easier. The villa, now to owners re take your photos as I was expecting (no offence) a cell it looked tiny however I was extremely surprised at its actual size it is a lot bigger than it looks there is a DVD player there with a good selection of English DVDs to watch the kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need to eat in, the seties and bed are very comfortable and the view from the living room doors is spectacular just trees and hills sitting outside was superb apart from chairs where a bit small for a tubby Welshman but hey I'm working on it!! Best private pool I have seen for a long time its large and deep at a guess about 8 foot in deep end it was great and with temperatures in mid to high 30s we where in it till after 7 at night it was silent just the odd bird song and very occasional car/van there are a couple of vans we religiously missed the bread van but got the fish van with fresh sardines . not a single barking dog apart from 1 little chap who sounded off every evening at the same time just to let us all know he was there the whole two weeks was just perfect you would actually think you are miles from anywhere when in fact you are not at all it just gives that impression you even get to put your car under cover so it isn't baking hot...pure bliss and the best bit NOT a single mosquito. Pedro hands over the keys and is there at the end of the phone if you need him we did have a bit of an issue contacting him on the way from Tomar to let him know we where on our way we had our usual UK mobile and sim but it wouldn't connect we found out later from villa owners to put 000 in front of Portuguese code then Pedro's number and our phone then connected so you might want to make a note of that. To summarize brilliant holiday and villa.

Perfect Peaceful Location

5 of 5
We are just home from a 2 week stay at Casa Bedrock & already want to return!! The area is very peaceful, perfect for relaxing. Our children loved the pool and spent nearly all their time in it. The villa itself is so well equipped. Wifi was great & kept everyone happy as well as lots of English tv channels. Air con in the bedrooms was fantastic & the villa itself stayed so cool even after day's hitting 30 degrees. The kitchen is well equipped & was easy to cook meals & with the added bonus of a dishwasher, or if you want to eat out there are many lovely restaurants within 5/10 min drive. Shops/supermarkets/banks etc 5/10 min drive away. The guidebook the owner provides or as we called 'the bible' was just amazing. It documents walks, shops, restaurants, days out etc etc, we referred to it every day! If you're thinking of booking, DO IT, you won't be disappointed!!
