Great visit.

We really enjoyed our visit to the casa, and in particular the beautiful garden with colourful flowers, mature plants and trees. Monika and Jean Claude have done a great job in providing a place to rest and relax in the sun or shade. The pool was great fun on these long summer days. I was impressed by the many trails in the area, all well signposted. The walks down to, and around the old bridge are interesting in many ways. Pedrogao Pequeno and Pedrogao Grande are nearby, and have restaurants, cafes, bakeries and supermarkets. So many pastries, so little time! Monika and Jean Claude were great hosts. They provide a high level of privacy, but are there for advice or a conversation if required.

Home from home

Second time I have stayed here. Lovely house with all conveniences. Quiet location. Not affected by the June 2017 forest fires though evidence can be seen about a mile away. The "Poco Corga" riverbeach nearby (walkable) is great - not too busy but has a bar and restaurant. House has plenty of outside tables depending if you want sun, shade or seclusion. Praia das Rocas is a lovely lido in Castanheira (5 mins drive) and very reasonably priced. Would happily stay again.
