                    Wonderful property, charming hosts

We were greeted by Richard and Jan on arrival, and shown around their property, which was beautifully appointed, immaculate and very comfortable. They had stocked up the cupboards with the basic needs for settling in, including washing up liquid and loo rolls....far above any other place we have stayed! Richard advised us on the local amenities, markets etc., which was invaluable. You definitely need a car both to get there from the airport, and to travel around. It is beautifully quiet and peaceful with all the countryside around you. This was a great base to discover Portugal. It was our first visit to the country, and we took advantage of travelling to the coast, and finding little towns and villages dotted around. We also took advantage of sampling the local cuisine! You have to sample the local black pork! Especially with clams which Rick Stein recently sampled in Lisbon. Ask Richard for direction to the little place he sent us to!!
